Because I won't try to outdo Leslie Charteris!  ;D  Simon Templar now has something a little more upscale than a Volvo 1800 ES.

The Matchbox DH-125, and I would not recommend it. Molded in white, black, and red, and covering up the red is not easy. It's made even more difficult by virtue of the red plastic seeming more like vinyl than polystyrene, but I may be wrong. I also question the shape around the flight deck; all the ones I've seen 'in the flesh' have a distinct bubble that is missing in this one. Maybe a later variant did away with it? The landing gear got broken off in storage while waiting for me to buckle down and finish it, which explains the support under the fuselage - the nose gear broke off after the first 2 photos, and the model now sits upside down on the shelf. I'll probably snap it off again and attach it with a blob of putty. Home-made decals again, good enough for my purposes.

Nice job. I wish model makers would mold everything in white. I've got the same kit in the stash. I got mainly for the engines.

The Matchbox 125 was a -600, which had different, simpler (more attractive?) cockpit contours to earlier versions.

Google HS125-400 and HS125-600 and you'll see what I mean.

The revised shape applied to all subsequent variants.

This is the Hs125-600, and, as the valued gentleman already has explained, and you're already into, that version was the first without the classic British flightdeck bubble. The model is, hence, quite true to its subject, at least in that aspect.

I have one myself, built when I was a youngling. Nine, I think. At that time, you could choose model building as an extra activity in school - which I obviously did - and once having completed the compulsory car model (boring!) there was a big pile of unbuilt kits in a room to choose from. I remember there were next to no military kits, and reasonably few aircraft as well, but, in a corner, hidden below some other kits, there was one of these Hs125's, and I managed to get it. Building it, I wanted, as I always do, to portray it in flight, i.e gear up, but that wasn't allowed. "All parts have to be used", the teacher said. I can still quite vividly remember how annoying I found that.. Anyway - as soon as I got it home, I cut the gear off ans sealed up the hatches. And I still have it in my built stack.

Halo Halo Halo! I like your HS.125 and I can just see 'Rodge' jetting down to Nice in it with Kate O'Mara in front of a bluescreen background.  ;)

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Good job Ratty.

IIRC the books were set between the wars (?) and Simon Templar drove something like a Lagonda.
So maybe an accompanying Dragon Rapide would be in order?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
