I'm with you there. Mach 2's Seamaster kit produced one of my most satisfying, if more than a little challenging, builds, and the completed Martin Monterey MR1 stands on a shelf right in front of my b'fast spot to this day, I like it THAT much.

. You've just proved that, despite the detractors who, I suspect are mostly little more than keyboard warriors anyway, such kits CAN be built.

Welcome to a whole new level of pain.  I hope you enjoy sanding.  I'd advise getting a good stash of sanding pads.  EBay and search for sanding pad offcuts.  You'll get a cushion sized pack of random but usable pads that should last a few years and cheaper than the commercially available ones.

I sold mine a few years back as I just couldn't face it.  I still have the Comet 4c and Arado At 232B.

One should also listen to oneself and previous experience. I bought a Lotnia Spitfire IX UTI some years back, knowing how bad it was but thinking that 30 years experience could fix it.  I was wrong. It couldn't.

Mach 2's prime problem is still the transparencies, most of which seem to be moulded with pebble-dash finished moulds. My RB-45's cockpit canopy looks like  the Belgian pavé I used to test drive on in the 60s, it's THAT rough. 

For the Monterey I actually used a vacform canopy from Anigrand, who do the Seamaster kit in resin, but they're different versions to each other. Bizarrely each kit has the canopy shape from the OTHER one supplied with it!   

I'm half way through an MACH 2 RB-57F build, renosed with a Matchbox PR.9 nose. So far, things have gone rather smooth, I must say, hampered only by my ever changing mojo.

I have the Argosy as well, and a Comet C.4 and a few others, and while the moldings are suspicious at best, they surely look buildable.
So I'm with the Monster. I'm happy MACH 2 is there. And maybe, one day, I can afford a DC-8 Sarigue as well.

It's been my experience that a lot of Internet "horror" stories about various models are both seriously exaggerated and, bear little resemblance to reality.

Ergo, I ignore them and just go ahead anyway because said "horror" stories are usually my incentive to buy them and, show that they can be built.   

Try the Andy Pack Beech King Air.  You'll love that one.

That's one of their better ones I found, except the, quite clear, canopy doesn't fit too well.

He used to run a 'model shop' (the words are used in their WIDEST possible sense here!) in Ross-on-Why, on the other side of the Forest from me. I never bought a kit from there that I didn't have to complain about, not one!

Never heard of Andy Pack but, as the King Air isn't a subject that  interests me, that's irrelevant anyway.

Having TOTALLY misread/misunderstood the title of this thread, I now have a surreal mental image of an Armstrong Whitworth Argosy accelerating to 1320 miles per hour!
