I made the wheel sponsons/ bulges from drop tank halves and card. Filled in the nose Perspex. But looking at it now, with the wheel bays attached, I think I need to extend the rear fuselage.

Even tho it's not a bigger scale kit it sure looks like one Cap'n..and yep lengthen the rear ..will balance the look bigger and put a big smile on Kit's face 😄
I'm enjoying this muchly 😊

Absolutely - elongate the musk outta that thing!

Er, I mean, balance! - yeah, that's it, balance!  Gotta keep that Empty Centre of Gravity aligned with the Empty Centre of Lift or the pilots will be fighting the controls every second of the flight ... ;)

So long as he extends the wings to suit of course.....................  ;D

She's been chopped ! I'll make the rear extension about 1/3 shorter than the front one.

It looks so much better with the extensions.  Less like a flying suitcase and more like a serious load lugger!

Having an old vacform kit of the Beverley in my StashTM, this does trigger some nerves. However, as soon as I take it out, I expect a 1/72 injection kit on the market appearing just out of nowhere, however costing the equivalent of food for a year or so. So maybe I shouldn't..

Just out of curiosity, what would you be using for the turbine engines? I've got two of the Mikromir 1/144 kits (I really hate this small scale but, no other option) and was kind of thinking of using the two to produce a kind of six engined "Super" Beverley.  I'm also a lazy sod so, I don't think I will go down the road of a retractable undercarriage/sponsons etc. Too much bloody work involved! ;D

Hang on a mo!! How's this for silly? Six turning and, two burning! A couple of underwing jet pods..........!

The RW 'Super Bev' was to use Tynes, so an old Airfix Vanguard kit could provide those.

But the thought of a couple of ex-B-47 jets under each wing does sound rather good.  ;D

Cheers guys. I'll just make the engines out of drop tank parts. Probably use the original propellers. I'll put some under wing tanks on her as well.

Whatever would we do if we forgot to save drop tanks? 1,001 uses!  ;D

That's looking VERY plausible.

How about a ramp-type cargo door while you're at it? Hauling those hulking great doors off and on every time they wanted to change the tasking was a total PITA.
