Well its been a bloody good Sunday for me guys ..was watching 4 auctions on Trademe from the same seller.
Won the lot 😀😀
Scored this lot .
Academy 1/48th Su27
Trumpeter/Mini hobby 1/48th Chinese J-11 ..basically the exact same plane ..I bid on both hoping to get one and scored both 👍..nobody bid on em which was amazing.
Now the other 2 are built and very likely Monogram kits as one a  48th B-26 Korean War Invader and the other a 48th Ventura..guess the price for these 2 ..if ya said $ 31.50 you'd be bang on  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Quite what Blackburn intended the FAA to use the rest of the fuselage for defeats me!

It does make you wonder especially when you realise it was originally conceived as a short range interceptor ! Admittedly the centre section was widened by 18" in the Mk II to accommodate a torpedo, but it was still a huge aeroplane before that.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks to a bloody good mate of mine I have just scored a model I've wanted since the moment it came out .
A 1/35th scale Trumpeter Mil-24 Hind .
It's already been started and Perrin wants it to go to a home where he knows it's going to get finished and modified, and that's mine .
I'm going to turn it into a Super Hind .. called the ATE Super Hind Mk lll. 😄

The Wooksta!

I finally got the Kopro IL 10 markings I'd bought weeks back - they are now resplendent on a Bv P.194.

There were a few things I'd won on ebay, but I've forgotten what they are.

I have one which will, one day, be built pretty much OoB as a Czech version ... Mostly. ;)

Now there's an idea. Big belly tank instead of a torpedo and call her the "Rum Runner"  ;D

The Firebrand and the Skyraider have nigh on identical lengths and spans.

The Firebrand was lighter, carried less fuel and had a slightly less powerful engine than the SPAD.

The Skyraider was a brute but looked right and became something of a legend.  The Firebrand always looks a bit awkward to me, the Sabre-engined versions were not exactly ugly but certainly unattractive; the Centaurus versions looked as though they should have packed a punch but didn't.  Probably why it faded into relative obscurity.

Skyraiders could carry more crew and many versions did as well, somehow Blackburn missed a trick with the Firebrand and didn't do it.

Hmmm, there's an idea, cross-kitting the AEW or the 4 seat Skyraider with a Firebrand in FAA markings? I haven't got a Firebrand kit as yet, but I can see one in my future already.  ;D

Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Must admit whilst traveling home on the bus this morning I was musing on whether it would be possible for the Firebrand to become the FAA's Skyraider ? Bombs and rockets instead of the torpedo. Need to look at the placement of the wheel bays and wing fold. But that's post Telford.

Length and wingspan similarities have little meaning in this case because it's all about volume. The Firebrand fuselage is skinny, the AD fuselage ain't. It's a slab-sided monster.
