The fin base will be blended into the spine eventually. I'm not quite sure how that will work just yet.

I'm a liking this mate 👍..slowly its getting there ..I find once the "click" moment happens everything else falls into place.

Slow is the word as I've started a bedroom renovation. Tearing stuff apart then paint and flooring.

Oh demo can be fun ..but also frustrating as hell ..been there both times.
Are you having hard wood floors or carpeted once ya done ?
I love a carpeted floor in a bedroom..hard wood is cold..mats slip all over the place and noisy.

Tearing carpet out that the dog has been too friendly with and replace with waterproof vinyl as the oak under the carpet is probably ruined. I might try to recover some of the better pieces of original oak and use it to replace blackened areas in the living room. I'll just fill in with the proper thickness of plywood and cover with the new vinyl.

Yeah I've got that Ken..done floor splicing a few times in the past ..normally it's cause it's crap partical board which some (very naughty word) has dropped something heavy and punched a hole in it.
Easy to fix if ya know how 😉

This is the original oak floor that covers the entire first floor of the house. Too many spots turned black from dog pee over the years. I've replaced a few pieces over the years that were damaged by drilling holes for cables or dogs. I've no idea if I could find new pieces to fit, it's so old. So maybe I can steal some from the back of the closet to fix spots in the living room. That floor needs to be sanded down and refinished again anyway.

You'd be surprised what's out there now mate..old timber is a big thing in the States and had been for awhile now.
There's businesses out there who specialize in recycling timber.
It's like barn wood..if it can be saved it is ..pretty much certain you could find something out there .

I've got a stack of barn boards in the garage right now waiting for inspiration to be turned into something new. I'm thinking of making a small desk using old sewing machine base as legs.

The Viggen/Starfighter bash is progressing better than expected. The Starfighter cockpit section is assembled and attached to the Viggen. I cut down the F-16 fin base and reattached it. I also started the avionics spine. I'm boxing it in with thick plastic but I may need to resort to epoxy putty to complete it. It looks like the new fin will work as first planed. Here's a couple of pics.
I had to find a few parts to make a second cockpit.









Actually the bedroom project is working out half way decent with the model building. I work on the bedroom until I need to let paint dry or I'm tired and then work on the build until I'm rested up again.

Slow going on anything today, or yesterday it seems as it's past midnight. Anyway, just got home from concert in Chicago. Queen with Adam Lambert. Fantastic show!!!

PSR times about a hundred so far. Ok, it just feels that way. I'll get a pic or two up asap. Building a new main gear leg as one got lost during striping process.

Fighting off a bout of Covid the last several days. Not getting much done. I've never been so tired.
