Excellent choice and, what's even better, it's not yet another bloody Spitfire (that'll probably get sneaked in later.....! :-\

There are marks that could do with a mainstream, rather than limited run, tooling, but horses for courses I suppose.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I thought someone was pulling my leg when they texted me the news   I can see me wanting 2 kits so as to cover both subtypes. Always liked the 410 and fancy one in ANR markings.

Why would anyone want to do a Me.410 in Australian National Railways markings?

Of course, there are a few variations to choose from:

Interesting release.
It is amusing how some folk think that Airfix would be able to easily
produce an Me 210 now they have the 410 CAD and moulds.

Yeah, easy peasy all it takes is new fuselage and wing moulds. Unless, of course, Airfix has engineered the kit with separate outer wing panels and rear fuselage.

The Wooksta!

The late 210s had the same fuselage as the 410.  Not that I need either.  Where's the Scimitar we've been asking for, repeatedly and loudly for over a decade?

Just imagine the weeping, wailing and rending of clothes if they had engineered it with separate bits to allow a 210 from the same basic moulds.
;D

And in future time people look back and wonder why they never released a 210.

Even Airfix are getting into the 'Captured' thing.  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
