Moving the old build threads en masse into the new GB would be a kluge. As stated by others it would be better to start a new topic in the GB with a link to the original Vault of Shame topic.

I think a link is good enough. I can tap on it and review the whole thing if I like. I do need to post the as is pic for mine.

Why this rule?

NOTE: I'm not a Mod. However I was involved in the discussions around this GB idea.

The rule is there to establish that a model has really been stalled for a significant amount of time, and isn't just a current project that's being "rolled over" into the Shelf Queen GB to give it a "second bite at the cherry" after the builder missed the dealine for some other GB.

The intention is to make this a rolling GB that re-starts every year, so what you could do is put pictures of your stalled builds up on the forum now and then enter them in the next SQGB starting in December 2024.

Hmmmm. I think I'll pass.
The alternative is to make a few pics of a big heap of stalled kits in the hope that any of them are still stalled next year....
No thanks....

"2.   Shelf Queen GB 2024 is only open to unfinished items that have been posted on the forum prior to 31 December 2022 (they don't necessarily have to have been in a previous GB) but which for some reason haven't been worked on seriously since then and are gathering dust on the 'pending' shelf. "

The thing is that this is something that I am trying to do anyway as the number of stalled builds is increasing to the point that I am starting to run out of both storage and work spaces.

Well, rather this GB than none at all for all the shelf queens. Even I I also haven't very many at all in old threads, and more on the shelves. But I'll just have to post a few pics in my blog, methinks, and then, next year, I can move on, if I haven't before. Right? Because I don't need a separate thread for each model, do I?

I don't see why you should, but I shall confer with my fellow Mod

Again, I'm not a mod.

My twopenn'th: I don't see any reason why you should need a thread for each build. The point of the rule is simply to establish the build state of the model at a particular date. A single "My Stalled Shelf" thread with clear photos should do just fine.

The prime reason why I suggested something like the SQGB is to counteract an unintended consequence of the regular GBs, namely that once a build has missed the deadline for the last GB, the modeller becomes disincentivised to finish it, since, being part-built, it can't be entered in any future GB, and the time spent finishing it could be more profitably spent on a new model for the next GB. The SQGB gives you back a reason to finish that earlier model. For models in this category, there will obviously be a build thread with pics from the old GB.
