I heard at Telford that 27 December was the new release date, and I think it was an Airfix rep on their stand who said that....

So shortly before my birthday, sounds like the perfect excuse to buy one.

Had a real good look at the 410 sprues and instructions and it's like a Siren calling me to the depths

Just a quick heads up. The old Airfix "short shot" problem seems to have reared its ugly head again. This picture of sprue shots from another site. Maybe all of you who have bought but not opened your kits yet might like to check them.

It's underneath and fixable.  Back it with thin plastic card and fill.  Simples.

Yes. It's underneath and fixable. It's also not the point. This shouldn't be happening in a brand new,  supposedly "state of the art" kit.

No problem with either of mine

That's definitely machine operation error and QC b@llsup. The former happens, but it should be have been caught before the sprues were packaged.

The 1/48 Gannet is available from Airfix. So presumably in the shops in  the next few days.

The Gannet wouldn't be my first choice ,or second, or, even third especially in 1/48! I'd prefer 1/72 but my partner has indicated she might buy me this for Crimbo so, I guess it would be churlish to refuse!. ;D  I'd rather have the reissued  Great Western but, I guess I can get that myself! ;)  ;D . I was singularly unimpressed by the  Airfix 2023 programme especially the dismal reality after all the fanfare. 2024 can only get better although ,I fear another round of eyewatering prices (to which I accept Airfix is NOT unique)

Just received notification from Airfix that they have released an RAF version of their 1/48 Buccaneer, which is no supprise if you have their book on building the Buccaneer as it's one of the builds.
I do wonder why Airfix didn't do in 1/72 what they have done in 1/48 as far as the weapons go as the 1/48 have Martels as well as bombs etc

Got the old one in the stash, and it's crying out for yet another RCAF SAR asset, white over silver with the lightning stripe.

Airfix has released two quick fit models the 'London Taxi and the Brois Bus. From the reviews on YouTube there's a few faults when it comes to the state of the plastic, scratches and gaps especially on the bus. So there's scope for whiffery, colour changes, decals or in the case of the Taxi the pickup/Ute that LEVC hasn't built yet.
Prices for the Taxi starts around the £19 and the bus £25 although if you shop around you could get them a bit cheaper, ideal stocking filler.
