Yes, but according to Pete Long of the late and lamented Toad Resins, Xtracolour Mil 28 grey/green is closest.  From the ones I did back in the day, he was spot on.

AZ are supposedly doing some Argus Pulsejet He 162s also, although the markings for post war Austria are stupid in the extreme.

Given both of those 109s have the S-199 canopy, I'll be having a pair as Czech examples.

Such a finish was quite common on late FW 190s, even though with RLM75 instead of light blue. Very improvised, probably only primer, if at all.

They've also got a couple of 1/72nd Beech Staggerwings due out soon. Looks like they're reboxings of the Sword kits, but with new tool canopies. Lots of Whiff potential here for alternate users etc..

I just painted the underside of the Me 109 Dreistörer with Vallejo RLM84.  Now I haven't done a side by side comparison but it looks very similar to Sky (which was the idea).

I used sky on some of mine as afaik you can't get MiL 28 grey/green in acrylic.

Those ex-Sword Staggerwings have a couple of whifs in the box. 

The UC-43, GB-1/2 and Traveler Mk.1 were all versions of the D17S, which was powered
by an R-985 nine-cylinder radial and a fuselage that was two feet longer than the earlier
variants of the Model 17. The ailerons were on the upper wing, plain flaps on the lower
wing and fully cantilever tailplanes.

On the first kit it's the USN Blue Goose paint scheme JB-1 Bu.No. 0801. The single JB-1
was C17R, c/n 115. The C17R had the short fuselage, R-975, ailerons on the lower wing,
drag flaps on the upper wing, semi-cantilever tailplanes with support struts and a different
windscreen profile. It's very different from the D17S, UC-43, GB-1/2 and Traveler.

On the second kit it's RAAF A39-2. It was not a Traveler Mk.1 it was D17A c/n 357 that
had been impressed by the RAAF. Originally registered as NC20778 it was the Staggerwing
that went to the Antarctic with the Snow Cruiser. It was powered by a 7-cylinder Jacobs
L-6(R-830). In August of 1941 Walter Beech sold the aircraft to E.J. Connellan of Alice Springs,
it was impressed by the RAAF while still on the ship on its way from the US. Connellan got
it back in 1944 in torn down condition with the fabric covering removed after being promised
it would be put back together being being returned. It was registered as VH-AFP in 1947, but
it took ten years to get it back together as many parts were missing when it was returned. It
was modified to D17S standard while being rebuilt. Crashed 1963, fuselage structure recovered
from the bush in 2007, currently under rebuild/restoration in Wanaka, NZ to its red and orange
Antarctic Service scheme.

Oh, the cowlings on the real aircraft are much cleaner than what's on the drawings, and based on
looking at built-ups of the Sword release, they're also not as fat as what's in the kit. The Sword
cowlings are oversized.

The rereleased 109Ks are out, I've seen at two built on Facebook.

Yup, ordered the K-14 "late" over the weekend. Fancy the blue/violet nosed one. I'm sure I've a bottle of WWI German Purple in the paint "stash".

I've ordered one of each from Uncle Frank. One be going RAF captured, t'other will be Czech.

AZ have a few whiffy and oddball E based 109s due out soon, including a couple of Ts and what they are calling the 109S - a two seat E. My first thought was a two seat T as a deck landing trainer or even a COD aircraft.
