Will the overwing rocket boosters be separate parts?  Bit early to ask, I know, and I know separate means more work, but it would give the end user more flexibility if they are.
And definitely separate u/c legs a la the big AW thing.

Thanks, I had more of a play with it refining the cockpit, intake and exhausts so it has moved on a smidge. Not huge changes but they all help. Point taken about the boosters so they are now split into upper and lower halves.

Weather is rather nicer today so I'm going to go get some fresh air while the going is good but next steps are wheels, alternative missile shoes and control surfaces. Then I might start thinking about printable sections and bugging you about what colour scheme you are going to do it in
an ideal companion to my example of your P187.
All I can say is I want one!

One squadron, right?!  Overall high speed silver and 56 Sqn red & white Firebird checks, perchance?

No. Definitely not 56.  Too cliched.

Again, no. F.155 was for a Javelin replacement so any of those squadrons is more logical.  Three tone grey with a black fin and spine and the three diving birds is far more apt.

Well, still have time to mull on it and let your RAF mood build to a simmer

Today's progress was reprofiling the front of cockpit and addition of the airbrakes and control surfaces

Would it be possible to leave a support structure free area under the canopy so the more adventurous could scratchbodge an interior?

I'd also suggest a separate nosecone. Especially so the back so we can add some nose weight.

Yes. YES!!!

Still too scared to take the "not styrene" plunge, but this might be the game changer. This one is my F.155T favourite, and if I can ditch the boosters, rather going for scratchbodged (yep, it's now a word) pylons, drop tanks and missiles, I'm sorely tempted..
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

The Wooksta!

I did mould the tanks, with integral pylons, from the Whirlybird P.1121. May have to dust them off as I suspect they could be useful here.

Might it be worth looking at a two seat P.1121 at a later date?

Hopefully you'll give this a go, if anything goes wrong then I try and help out with replacement parts and I try and make them as economically as possible

Quote from: PR19_Kit on November 24, 2023, 10:58:43 AMIt looks like a turbo-charged P.1121

Strapping a couple of rocket pods would certainly count as a turbo charge

Depending on where the kits break it might be possible to graft the cockpit and forward section of this to the Whirlybird.

Surprisingly, well produced resin kits (and these really are) can be easier to build than standard styrene. You just have to get comfortable with superglue or if you want a little more wiggle room, 5 minute epoxy  Go for it

You got me thinking and leafing through books. It got me to eyeing the P.1116 and wondering how little extra work it'd be to do an alternative canopy, cannon bulges and new wing to be able to offer this as well

I'm trying not to get sidetracked by the P.1116 before this is done so I've had another little potter this morning

Paul over at Secret Projects has just provided some nice reference drawings of the two seater you mention
