Thanks guys.
Cutting it off was the easy part...

As I progress with this what was a very fluid plan is gelling and i'm seeing a way forward.
I've assembled a pair of F-15 wings and connected them as a preliminary stage for working out how and where to attach them and more importantly how to fill all the gaps and blend everything together.
The good news for Kit is that these will be longer than the standard Jag wings.
I've also cut off the end of the phuse aft of the nozzles and glued on a piece of evergreen to give a flat surface to build the tail off of using bits of the Italeri Jag or Hasegawa T2 as I see fit.

So pleased you're coming round to my way if thinking.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Finally something worth looking at.   <_<
I worked out how to attach the wings.
Remains of the Italeri Jag will be chopped up to fill the gap between the tail and the cockpit creating a spine.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
