I saw specimen jars like that when I did "O" Level Biology  ;)

The whisky is GREEN when you pour it. Looks very weird.
I got it for a whisky tasting I did at work and I must say, I've tasted worse....

Been rather busy with "real-life" issues the last two weeks but managed to squeeze in some modelling time this weekend.
I finished airbrushing some build just before I have to pack it in for the winter. Next airbrush session somewhere in April.......
Some pics will come to the forum in the coming weeks.

We are working on the preparations for the Dutch IPMS Nationals which will be held in the 25th of November.
We have 46 commercial traders at the moment and also 46 members selling their stash. And 62 clubs and individuals showing their models. SLightly down from last year but then again last year was the first nationals we had in three years after Covid.

As for the whisky, I went to the north of the Netherlands last week to a region called Friesland. There is a large whisky shop there which had a fire earlier this year.
They were selling quite some special bottlings for almost half price because the labels were stained with smoke and soot. Nothing wrong with the contents though.
Working my way through a lovely Glen Spey of 13 years old.

As many whiskies are smoky already from the start, I fail to see a reasonable reason for that discount, but hey - carpe diem!

Things are slowly getting back to normal here. Besides a visit to Telford and being involved in the organizing of the Dutch Nationals I was very busy with work.
The last three weeks I have been in Sweden every week for 4 days for work.
It was nice to meet up with a large number of on-line friends at Telford!

Today was spent reorganizing my built models after our display at the Dutch Nationals and trying to get some order in my current builds.
I seriously have to find some more display space or I will have to bin a number of built models soon.

For next year I'm planning on a number of further Bf-109 models and a series of Cold War USAF models, including some Skyraider alternatives and a B-49 strategic bomber all in a Vietnam scheme.
I also bought the North American LRV model which I hope to build soon.

I really hope I can get some modelling time in over the Christmas holiday. I have planned 2 1/2 weeks of work so I really hope for some quiet me time.

I hope to post some more finished build that I took to the Dutch Nationals during the next few weeks if I can get some photography done.

Tom, seen your Me209 post elsewhere and I have a question about 'Project 109'.  Is going to be a mix of real world and whif 109s (inc Avias and Hispanos)?

Apologies if you've already explained the scope elsewhere.

The series is primarily real world. There are a number of projects included like in the high altitude builds.
And the projects get what-if markings.

And there will be a few what-if designs included as well like the Bf-109W seaplanes. I just can't help myself.

Almost baught some of this in the duty free in Keflavik. Then decided on the more, uh... traditional style.  ;D  ;D  ;D

I've been tempted before but the price in Holland is quite high. Guess I need to find a reason to travel to Iceland on business  ;D  ;D  ;D

This is NOT a whisky I'd want to sample!  However, the bottle of Highland Park I've just bought  is another matter entirely.

I started a new one yesterday. Thanks to David (cpe63) who kindly donated a built (not by him  ;) ) Hs-129 model.
This I combined with an Airfix BV-141B to make the prototype BV-141C-0 attack plane.
The main parts are together. Now just a lot of putty and sanding is needed.

Spraying is for next spring, so don't hold your breath......

On the Bf-109 front I started the build of a series of two seater 109s and a series of Czech Avia built models. SOme of the Czech ones are of course also two seaters.  ;D

Just to illustrate why the list is ever growing:
We all know the Bf-109G-12 is the two seater trainer variant. However, some research showed that there were three G-12 models. One based on the G-4 (no beule), one based on the G-6 (with beule) and one based on the G-6AS with the refined cowling. Plus there was a Yogoslavia built version that had an Erla canopy in the rear, instead of the one with the side windows giving extra forward view from the read cockpit. And there was a projected K-12 variant.

On the Czech side there was the S-99 single seater, the CS-99 trainer with G-12 Canopy, both of them with the Daimler Benz engine. Then there was the S-199 and CS-199 variant with a Jumo 211 engine. But the S-199 came with a Erla canopy and with a blown canopy. And some CS-119 were rebuilt from the CS-99 with the G-12 canopy and some were new-built with a more streamlined canopy.

And when you think you have all of them, you find that there was a D-199 reconnaissance version. If anyone knows of a picture of that last one, please send it!
