Quote from: Pellson on November 25, 2023, 08:50:24 AMIt's amazing how many of these small light bulbs that go bust when they're lying flat in the storage during the rest of the year. I swear I checked all of them before storing them, and today, seven bulbs were dead. Incredibly annoying! Well - preparation is the foundation of victory, so obviously, I had some spares and now there's light in every window, as it should be.

Sounds impressive enough just reading about them let alone seeing them

I don't have a lot (read "any") experience with Nordic or even Central European Winter cold but I have experienced snow cold, & my experience is that snow cold doesn't feel half as cold as damp cold, whereas snow makes things look colder.

So, I can quite easily believe that it is colder than it looks.

We've been having the wet rainy cold here which just gets all the way down to your bones. However, I woke up to gentle snowfall this morning so it should be less chilling. It's all about relative humidity. Or the fact that there is snow on the ground makes people put the proper clothes on instead of dressing like it's still summer. It's like the high school kids walking to school with shorts on.

Grandprogeny #4 is also a Wilf, so must something for him too (he's 1 in three weeks).

Still a bit too much at work to really find that modelling compatible pace in life, but as work sometimes mean sitting out long Zoom-meetings, one can sometimes shut the camera down and steal the odd moment to yourself for some minor works while someone Very Important Indeed is spreading their "wisdom" at length.
In that spirit, I've been able to break my way into that old Frog Sea Vixen, reattaching the cockpit interior that decided to go AWOL inside the fuselage when I painted the dielectrics. Now closed up again, some minor exterior repainting will be required before finalising it.
No further green on the Danes yet, however, and to be fair, I think I'll have to tidy the table a bit before I can pop a tin lid. There's just too much paperwork spread around to make painting safe. Annoyingly, I seem to have broken off the pitot on the Super Sabre again, so I need to replace it, rather before painting than after. Currently mulling on whether to go the cut-off needle way, or make a third try with some stretched sprue. Choices, choices..

I retired before virtual meetings became a practical reality, but did have to be woken up once during an extremely dull Eurofer meeting. However at least I wasn't snoring like one of the Italian delegates

We (NJ Gov't) use M$ Teams (the Zoom clone, Skype replacement by Micro$oft) and, unless I'm presenting, both my camera and mic are off. Which means i can do real work, while still in the presentation.

Or sleep if I'm home.

Of course they do. That way, they can be "important" without having to risk neither opposition nor difficult questions - as those was inflicted on the original speaker. Who - most likely - is external..

Having waited most of today for someone to deliver some data, I'm realising that I will most likely have to invent something on my own, as the process for which I need said data will be ancient by the time I get what I need. If I ever get at all.

And I haven't even cleaned the desk..
