Just had an early lid and tray boxing of this rare old kit arrive today after winning it on ebay.
Seller stated no decals which is no big deal as would probably be useless by now anyway and my intention is to build it or rather them now as upon checking the kit found 2x sprues of both colours, 2x stands and one set of instructions, but no canopies.

 

Long shot but does anybody have one spare or stuck to an unwanted built kit that could possibly be copied as a vacform or has anybody actually already used an available vacform canopy on this kit?

I do have an 1/72 Hobby boss Zero canopy available. Don't know how it fits a Matchbox kit but can't be that much different IMHO.

That may be ok to try, would prefer injected plastic ones which will not show bare interior too well.
The kit itself doesn't actually come close to any version of the A6M Zero anyway so keeping it accurate is not a priority.
Apparently Lesney asked Mitsubishi for input toward the kit, must have asked for someone with Zero knowledge.


I'll PM you tomorrow regarding canopy as am at work now.
