Gondor

It's a low pressure moulding Kit and the exhaust looks as if it becomes round as it exits the fuselage, all of which means that they would not be able to make that as part of the fuselage due to the shape, position and technology being used.

I've got both wings extended now, but only one PSR'd so far, and the same with the tailplane, as it looked a  bit under-nourished behind those larger wings.

I'll extend the fin a bit too, as it has the longer canopy to contend with, and that's bound to need a fairing on the aft fuselage too, but that's not quite so straightforward as the rudder snapped in half, as Chris predicted, and it may need a  totally new upper rudder.

Ugly as this might be in normal appearance it's gonna look much better like this   ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

You're coming round to my way of thinking too.  ;D

The Shrimp always looked a tad 'under winged' anyway I reckon.

Nice mods as a point a difference.

Good work

I'm very pleased with the way the canopy sits on it, looks the part very well.

It'll have to wait a while before I take pics of that, it needs a fairing aft of it, and some work at the rear end too.

Lots of progress y'day, both wings and tailplane have been PSR'd and primed to death, and the wings are pretty well done now. The tailplane needs a bit more attention.

I've PSR'd the fuselage a lot too, but that may need a bit more after a first primer coat. To that end I've glued the canopy in place, and I'll mask it up before adding a fairing behind it, then masking it and giving the whole thing an initial coat of primer.

The canopy looks as if it was MEANT to be there.

Pics later on I expect.

All the PSR on the wings and tailplane has been done now, and the initial primer coat is on them too. I'll need to do some re-scribing on both flying surfaces, but that won't be too bad as they're flat.

Here's almost all of it plugged together, with canopy masked up prior to priming the fuselage. The upper rudder's not there at the moment as I've yet to sort out the extended height of it, but it'll balance the extended wings and tailplane for sure.

The canopy masking set came from Special Hobby and is made for their Meteor NF11/12/13 of course, and it's not quite perfect for the old M'box NF11 canopy that I used here . Some panels are too large and some are too small, but I trimmed them up to suit and it doesn't look too bad I reckon.

Suits the two seater canopy Kit

I thought so too, and it surprised me just how well it works. The Meteor canopy is of the same period of course.

Plus the longer wings improve it no END of course.  ;D

No idea why, but I now have an image of her sitting at anchor in some Indian Ocean lagoon with one of the groundcrew sitting on the wingtip fishing rod in hand  ;D

Hmmm, does anyone do fishing figures in 1/72 then?  ;D

Training Shrimp crews out there had to be SUCH hard work of course......  ;)
