Lovely sculpting   It's always been the eyes that frighten me on larger scale figures. They can make or break the finished product.

Has to be an easier build than the Pavla kit, but that isn't saying to much as I gave up with the Pavla one and the Wookster took it off my hands

Just checked Scalemates, it's a completely different kit. Looks like a decent model through the bag, though the engine will be a bit of a challenge with al the exhausts from each cylinder to the collector ring  :-\

Quote from: NARSES2 on December 08, 2023, 06:21:22 AMThinking about it, my Ontos was probably the Renwall kit and I built the Skysweeper as well. We obviously grew up in the same era Kit  ;D

I can remember the Aeroskin models, but never had the courage to tackle one.

We sure did.  ;D

I built the largest of the Aeroskins, exactly because it WAS the largest, and that was the Bristol F2B. Although I say it myself it came out rather well, but it needed VERY careful handling during the covering phase!

I wouldn't mind trying another one, but I bet they cost a fortune on the 2nd hand market these days!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Very definitely a different kit, I have a pair of the SH ones tucked away and IIRC one is started.
I do have a mould for a Perseus cowl, so I may shortcut the whole assembling it nonsense.

It's not very often my model stash grows. But it sure did today.  :o
Got a bunch of models today at my local model club meeting and Christmas Gift Exchange.
For starters, a member decided he didn't want a Gundam robot model kit that he had won in last month's club raffle. So he asked if I wanted it and I said Sure. Gundam kits aren't that difficult to build. Sure, the instructions may be all in Japanese, but if you study the pictures very carefully, they're not that hard to put together.
For the club's Christmas gift exchange, I was at first undecided which present to pick. But ultimately decided on the biggest one there was in red type wrapping paper at the bottom of the pile.  To say I was in for a surprise when I opened it would be an understatement. Inside the large box was not one kit, but THREE. How the hell did I get three when it really should have only been one? From what I heard from another club member, there's another longtime member who is no longer able to build and paint models due to a debilitating condition in his hands that he has had for a long time, therefore, this member most likely is getting rid of models from his kit stash. So instead of wrapping one gift, he probably wanted to thin his stash a bit faster and put three models in a large box instead and wrap up the whole box as one big present.
So I ended up getting a British scout car, a Nantucket ship, and a Sherman tank kit. Not sure what I'll do with all the kits or if I'll end up building any of them. Only time will tell.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Heads.
Delivered from BNA.

Heads by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

German, DAK, British tank crew in berets, and Italian.  The DAK set gives me a couple of pith helmets for my "Professor Challenger Lost World" dio which will also get some of the goggled heads all the sets have.  Other heads will become Hydra heads for my Pz4.
The Legend German set will possibly not get used with the others as the heads appear obviously undersized.  Pinheads - appropriAte for nazis... ;)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Old Wombat

There are LOTS of 1/35 figures in both styrene & resin, most of them come with separate heads, one simply swaps the kit head for the aftermarket head desired.

Many of the figures I build are Frankenstein-builds of bits from several figures melded together to achieve the look & posture I want.
