Obviously it would have extra tanks or more efficient fuel (which is a thing)......but I like the look of the stream lined (wheels up) machine

What i got figured is there's a flying gas station already in the air to refuel the tanker after its refueled the Buccaneer as they both take off

I've got a Matchbox Victor in my stash, maybe I should build it as part of this GB entry to solve its fuel problems, a lot more interesting than drop tanks       

Just use the four engines on takeoff and climb out. Cruise on two to the target and back.

Chris I watched a documentary on that raid ..the mission to bomb the runway at Stranley I think but not sure now though.
What impressed me was the amount of math that went into everything..making sure every tanker was exactly where it was ment to be when it ment to be there ..awesome organizational skills on the part of everyone involved.
I can't remember exactly why but the bomber didn't fly straight down the runway as planned it flew slightly across it ..still did damage tho 
Now ive gonna look on my comp to see if I have it on a drive or I watched on YouTube

Seen the same documentary. What impressed me was that all the maths was done the old fashioned way with slide rules, the circular type  , pencils and paper 

I was lucky enough to chat to Martin Withers, the guy who flew that first Vulcan mission, at Fairford one year, and he said they worked it all out by computer at first, and then CHECKED it all using the old fashioned method.

Sounds a bit like that first US manned space mission when John Glenn wanted Katherine Johnson, one of NASA's best mathematicians at the time, to check the re-entry position figures manually (or maybe womanually....) before he'd OK the launch!
