This is coming along well.

Scroll back up to Post # 9 where I showed a slightly better pic with it. It's not Russian. It's some sort of sci-fi turret from Shapeways that a friend didn't want, so I used it.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Looking good, but ain't the turret a bit large and tall?

NARSES2

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Shapeways turret is only slightly bigger than the kit turret. Perhaps what is making you think it's bigger is the larger octagon shaped pedastal that the gun sits on.

Captain Canada

It's like a Centurion tank turret that went to outer space lol. Looking good !

It's probably the tall base that looks odd on the ship - the lower the CoG the better!

Specially on a submerged foil hydrofoil! High CGs give the control, system a tough time of it.  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Captain Canada

I went back through the pics and it does look out of place. The base is too big I think.

Well, if I need to cut off the octagon base, I will. I'll make a decision on that later. In the meantime, I'll see if I can find some spare model parts to create a new base.

I am calling this done. Finished last night at about 9:30 or so on Dec. 30, 2023. Thankfully right before the end of the year.  :drink:

You've got all day to finish another one ! lol

Looks great. I love the bridge with the windows all the way around. Lots of little details to peruse on her as well. It would be fun to run it around the bath tub a few times.

Too bad the US Navy doesn't have the Pegasus class in commission anymore. They'd make short work of those Houthi boats off the coast of Yemen.  ;D  ;D
