If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I didn't think the weather affected submarines................  ;)

No, not normally, but, then, this one's pretty abnormal. ;)

"Panel lines" for the hatches of the 15 Trident II sized SLBM's scribed.

Some more scribing to go & the sensor suite (Just how they jam that much ... stuff, all of it retractable, into a conning tower is mind boggling! :o )

Why 15? Submarines generally don't have odd numbered groupings of missile silos. They are all even numbered such as 12, 16, 20, etc.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Because it's Australian, the 16th silo was converted into a "Super-Eskie"  to hold a proportion of the crews' liquid rations...................but I might of course be completely misinformed.

I'd say that's extremely possible or at least extremely likely

What else would you expect from the RAN?  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I like the Super-Esky & Drop-Bear launcher ideas but, more prosaically, it is just because there are 3 rows (staggered) of 5 missiles.

I could have added a few more to make 18 but I thought that part of the quasi-modular nature of the submarine would be to include weapon system specific crew quarters & ancilliary equipment in the central module, which would reduce the overall number of missiles that could be fit into the space.

Note: The submarine is modular during construction - meaning that modules can be dropped into the centre section then welded into the structure of the boat - rather than having quick-change drop-in modules like the Boxer system.

The populace of Barrow in Furness know all about modular construction of submarines.  The modules are built in one part of the yard, and moved through the streets of the town to the assembly area.  Pix here:-https://www.nwemail.co.uk/news/23191534.pressure-hull-unit-transported-ddh-bae-systems-barrow/  and here:-  https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/huge-section-of-new-nuclear-missile-submarine-moved/    BAe systems say they use "the largest    black bin-bags in the world"  to wrap each section.
