If I had a Vampire knocking about I might consider measuring it all up to fit but I poo-poo that bolt in Autumnn by building it

More digital fettling has been done so it has main wheels, bays and doors now (not that this angle shows but you can see the tailplane nicely)

Depending where the breakdown is, the fuselage pod could be replaced with that of a Sea Venom.

That's exactly what I was thinking.   Could it be, perhaps ,  the "missing link"  between the Venom and  Vixen?   Or could a well crafted backstory make it so?

There was no missing link. Vixen was essentially a clean sheet albeit using similar principles.

Having said that, I'm curious to know if any of the design work from Swallow was fed into the DH 116 Super Venom. Specifically the wing.

Technically, I'm sure you're correct. Visually, however, the similarities are striking!

How did that previous Swallow wing I sent you compare to the Super Venom?

Tbh, I never checked it at the time. The thought only just struck me yesterday.

I'm 90% sure you mentioned trying it as a Super Venom wing at the time but you've so many projects on the go I might have gotten that wrong

I may have looked when I was scratching some of the bits for various things in early '22 but it's nearly two years ago and I've slept since then, not to mention a change of direction

I tipped my scrap and spares box out and resolved to try and make something with the bigger bits.

Result, a mongrel of a build - there is me110, F-84, Super Mystere, Spitfire and a lot of two part epoxy in there. Bristol's proposal for F.18/37 replacement for the Hurricane and Spitfire. Vulture engined version, I didn't have a plan view to hand so the ductwork is a bit of a guess.

P.s. I know there is a unicraft kit available but I figured my scrap box was 30odd quid cheaper

And probably an easier build  ;D

An odd looking aeroplane, but then anything with the Vulture always looks slightly "odd" to me for some reason
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I've never built one of theirs but I understand it to be an "interesting" exercise

A Vulture engined fighter HAD to be something special!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Ooooh, that's interesting.  I feel the need for a 'Styrene Junkyard' build of my own coming on!
