I've never done it but I'm sure there is some hard work involved. Since computers and I don't always get along I can only imagine the worst.

Since you're closing it on Jan. 1st, is that UK time or U.S. time? I think there's a 6 hour difference between the U.S. and the UK.

As for time ? We tend to be a little flexible with it and work on a "well that seems to be fair enough. I'll close the GB now" basis. Or at least that's what I work on and I am a Moderator    Plus if I'm honest I stopped trying to figure out what/who's time the Site works on ages ago 

Seriously, the level of "dishonesty" on this site is so close to non-existant, you may as well call it such.

I'd lock the site sometime within a few hours of 31st December 2023 departing the planet & call it "close enough".

Gentlemen,

To answer your questions on time zones, the actual moment of the new year and so on:

The 2024 nomination thread will be locked when (and if) I wake up tomorrow morning on the 1st of January 2024,
If someone wants to sneak in one more nomination before that he is very welcome (hint: not all of my builds have been nominated yet!!!).

Gentlemen,

A quick update on the Whiffies 2024 awards procedure.
I will shortly start grouping the nominations in the various categories.
This year there are 167 builds nominated, built by 53 different members, which is roughly the same as last year.

As is the tradition, the aim is to announce the winners roughly at the same time those "other" awards are announced, so that would be in the weekend of 9th of March 2024. 
I will put the polls up in the weekend of February 17th and they will run for 10 days.
The awards ceremony will be on Saturday the 9th of March 2024. The exact timing will follow.


Please be sure to attend the awards ceremony in a suitable attire. Those not properly dressed will be removed from the premises! Last year we again witnessed some rather outrageous behaviour among the attendees. We cannot tolerate any vandalism or damaging of academy property. Any members caught demolishing or damaging Academy property will be banned from participating and their stash will be impounded and sold in auction.

Please be advised that parking space at the venue is very limited. Being located in the Netherlands the only travel method allowed is by bicycle.
