Arrived from Germany last night, a Marksman Turret from ModellTransBau. It's resin and it looks good.

Ordered on 16th December, arrived 5th January. For an international delivery over Christmas that's a good turnaround.

Should go well on a Challenger hull. I see it as a Challenger 1 chassis refurbished to run alongside the new Challenger 2 fleet in the late 1990s.

it was the 1st penridge wargames table top of the year so i managed to get a couple of War Gods of Ægyptus figures
a Bastet  master of words and a Heru dark habinger  at a pound a pop well cheap.

I have not the faintest idea what these items are, but if you are pleased with them, then I am pleased that you now have them!

Arado Ar 196. Probably Spanish but a wheeled one with a trousered/spatted u/C in Chilean markings?  Maybe.

I received one of these today from BNA.  Had it on restock alert since someone here (Rickshaw or Womby IIRC) dreamy attention to them by buying the 1/35 edition a while ago.
My first thought is sling it under a '59 Caddy but there are so many other likely candidates in my stash.  This'll need a deep dive and some pondering.

This is starting to become a worrying habbit. Bought an IBG 1/72nd scale Centaur mk1, without actually loiking at it properly, and no alcohol was involved either. The tank is a bit old for what I usually build, but... I have a cunning plan. Swap the 2 20 mm anti aircraft guns for a pair of 30 mm rardens, and it becomes quite a formidable, if not a tad slow and antiquated infantry support vehicle,  the 20 mm guns have already got a home to go to, as they will be installed on my Avro Kittleton B1, when I start building it again.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That would look great on a Ford Thunderbird with the huge tailfins.

Fred, it sounds like you may need to get a few more of those flying car conversions... just a helpful notion / suggestion... ;)

Or you could take the idea and use some Bits Box parts - nothing says they have to be the same, competing designs / manufacturers and all that...

Weaver

For some reason the first things that sprang to mind when I saw the flying car conversion were:

1. VW Beetle
2. Schwimwagen (in 1/35th of course)
3. Anything towing a caravan...

Option 3 would involve buying two conversion sets and only using 1.5 of them on the main model, however the other two could be mounted pointing straight down on a motorbike. Since the wheels would be a bit small on a motorbike kit (typically 1/12th scale), a scooter might be best. The Tamiya T-Max springs to mind if you want something fast and futuristic-looking, but a tiny 50cc scooter with a shopping basket might be funnier...

Raided Hobbycraft's three-for-two sale today.
NOTE: you need to ask for the discount at the tills - it doesn't automatically detect which kits are in the offer (some sort of IT glitch apparently).

All Airfix, all 1/72 or 1/76th:

Hawker Tempest Mk.V Post War (just liked the look of it)
Folland Gnat T.1 (got several of these the last time they were out, but this one comes with the Hot Shots Oscar  EW-5894 Fallus markings  )
Buffalo & Willys MB Jeep (all sorts of ideas for Buffalos)

'Twas me, guv!

I'm waiting for my 1/24 version as it was in a pre-order order (IE: everything in the order was a pre-order item) & there are still a couple of items yet to arrive. It's a relatively small order of the Flying Car Conversion set, a St Javelin Bust (is that counted as a figure? :unsure: ) & three four other, actual, figures, including two of these;

Thanks for the suggestions re the flying car.  I'm going to have a proper rummage through the car stash to see what there is that grabs me.

Today I received from a very nice man in New Zealand a 1/9 Revell Triumph Twin Drag Bike.

Thank you my friend.
