Some engines from a A10 or scratch ,

I would have thought that the Edgley Optica woould have provided a better cockpit than the Alouette.

Latest 2024 acquisitions are another Airfix Skyvan**, a, Revell 1/72 Ju-290 and, Revell An-124.

**Airfix has steadfastly ignored all requests up to now to reissue the Skyvan as a Vintage Classic so, now that I have all I need I fully expect to see it appear as one of their "surprises" this year!  😂

I encounter exactly that as soon as I bring out any more esoteric resin or vac form kit and get started. Normally, just as I've cut out the major part, some mainstream injection company immediately issues a very nice kit with all bells and whistles included..

I thought they had already.  And the Islander.  I must take more water with it.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

😂. Unfortunately, they haven't, unless I've missed something! Memory ain't what it used to be! 😂.
If I buy a couple of second hand Islanders (another oft requested Vintage Classic suggestion), I just know Airfix will announce it the minute the postie arrives with the goods!

A couple of simple kits to get the mojo going:

Airfix 1/72 Red Arrows Hawk starter set
Pegasus Hobbies 1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk.I
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Today from the Bolton show, se parts for several frog shackletons and 3 complete ones, along with a corsair, crusader and strikemaster/jet provost in need of some tlc, from our very own wooksta. Also an A4 trainer and some drop tanks from Weaver ehichnwill come in very handy. As well as some putty and some tweezers, I got a sheet of RAF tactical roundels, and a Revell 1/72nd scale He 177 A-5.
It was good to catch up with people that I haven't seen in too many years today.

My haul from Bolton

Italeri Dornier Do 24 - this is the upgraded version. The cockpit bits are likely to fall into rubber at some point.
Airfix Dornier Do 17Z - likely Spanish in the pre war colours like their earlier Do 17s, but possibly Turkish
Zokamuira Horten Ho 229 - pricey but did have 20℅ off.  This is a huge improvement over the Revell kit, as it's very highly detailed.
Special Hobby Meilerwagen - I need something to transport a captured manned A-9/A-4b.  I just need a tractor now, possibly the one from the Airfix recovery set.
AZ Bf 109K-14 - the one with the S199 bubble hood. Much cheapness.
And there were some proper bargains in a box on Models for Sale:
Airfix Canberra B6 - just the bits in a bag for 4 Great British pounds
Revell Focke Wulf Flitzer - similar condition for two bar.
Falcon Spitfire Special vacform canopy set X 2 - a steal at 3 quid

Plus Weaver generously donated some Bright Spark Indian decals and Chrisnord gave me some brass etch for an Arado Ar 234.

Lots of good second hand stuff under the tables, but people are equating what eBay sellers are asking and not what yer actual punters are prepared to pay.

Bolton haul:

Italeri 1/72nd MB-339A PAN in Frecce Tricolori livery (and lovely dark blue plastic... ) Under-the counter sale for £5
- No particular plan: I just like them.

Airfix 1/72nd SR-N1 Hovercraft. New but modestly discounted.
- Probably going to be a militarised demonstrator with a couple of SS-12 missiles (see below).

Two Tamiya 1/100th Lightnings for Chrisonord.

The Wooksta already mentioned ModelsForSale's bargain bits box. The "all bits" one was mostly 1/48th, but I found:

A pair of 1/72nd Paragon resin+brass Python 3 missiles. The bag was split and there was no price tag on it, so I asked if I could open it all the way to check the instructions to make sure it was all there. It was, but when I offered him money for it, he gave it me for FREE!

A pair of CMK 1/72nd resin AS-12 missiles. Tried to give him £2 since there were £1 & £2 stickers on the box and he'd already given me the Pythons, but he wouldn't hear of it - what a gent!

Other than that: various modelling supplies and a book about the BAe 146/Avro RJ.

Models for Sale are always good to deal with.  The two Mosquitoes in one box was possibly my favourite.

They sure are, and they're about 4-5 miles from my 'country home'.  ;D

Yep I'm jealous of you buggers.

Something like Bolton would never happen here and if it did there wouldn't be any freebies and the prices wouldn't be much different from the shops ..some would be much cheaper of course but there wouldn't be many sellers like that here .

Pretty sure why though..the model community here isn't very big and our prices as you guys know are just plain day light robbery.

Forgot to mention, when I got home yesterday afternoon, there was a parcel behind my door containing some skyhawk drop tanks, all the way from Holland courtesy of our member 63cpe. Many thanks David, I really didn't think Royal mail would have done their bit in time, but they did.

From a Polish online store, a Maestro Models 1:72 resin conversion set for the Austrian air force's Saab 29 recce version; these aircraft were converted J29Fs fighters and had only their left gun bay replaced with an compact indigenous camera module with 5 windows.

Might end up on a Heller J29 as intended, maybe even an Austrian aircraft, but certainly camouflaged.  ;)
