Here's the result of the more silly putty experiment. Looks pretty good to me.
The dark ghost grey didn't get sprayed well down around the gun area so this might become an experiment in weathering for me and collect a bunch of soot from the gun.













This Harrier is more or less what I'm going for. The "middle" color isn't dark ghost grey here anyway. If you look closely there is another Harrier that looks more like its got dark ghost grey on it. This is a whiff so "no biggy da GI" as the ladies in Thailand used to say.

One thing I forgot to mention is that this stuff is not a one shot deal like smerf poop or silly putty is...you can us this over and over again with out a problem..acrylic paint just seems to disappear with this for some reason.

I think it looks better; there's a bit more contrast to the colours.

Here's an idea. Two in one color paints. Paint the whole model in one color, apply silly putty, wait an hour, remove and there you go! For that F-15 air superiority blue, etc look.

I need a paint that turns from grey to green for British camo!

I have to cut a mask for a false cockpit for the underside.  I need a good paint color for that. Maybe the Mission Models dark ghost grey followed by silly putty again. Or something darker.

German dark gray Ken..it's darker than dark ghost gray .

I'll have to see if I have that.

You could just take the ghost gray and add some black to it ..instant darker gray   

That would be dealing in the black art of organic chemistry! 🧪 Heaven only knows what sort of alchemy would emerge from that!
