I'm not so sure I will have the carrier ready for the Nationals in Madison. There's just too much more work to do on it that might take me past the summer months. And as far as my other battleship models that I've built and shown on these forums, I don't know if I'll take and show those either. My friend's truck doesn't have much space in the back truck bed.
I really haven't fully decided what models to take and whether or not I'll enter anything in the competition or just display only for non-competition purposes.
The more I read and learn about the IPMS Nationals and the General Rules they have plus the rules for individual Classes, the more I'm starting to think and have self doubts that my models would ever be competition worthy in such a "high stakes/high class" event. The Nationals is "the best of the best" when it comes to competition. I'm far from it. The judges at the Nationals don't judge "creativity and imagination" which is my biggest attributes. They only care about how good the gluing and painting is, seams are filled, wings are level, etc., etc.
Think of it this way, to put a twist on an old phrase, "You don't bring an X-acto knife to a Spray gun fight", know what I mean?
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

They have the Tiger Meet this year. Not judged entries.

I know that. The Tiger Meet is explained here:

But I've already explained my reasons for not wanting to display in the SIG area in this thread:

Another update.
It's so much easier for me to put text in the pictures to describe what I've done instead of having to write long winded sentences and paragraphs on a website forum.  ;)
Anyway, after this update, I'll be working on scratch building nearly 200 life raft canisters. What a chore that will be.  :banghead:

Regret to inform everyone that there may not be any updates for the next two weeks. :(
I'm currently trying to scratch build all the life raft canisters plus the racks they hang from.
But it is proving to be a very tedious job as the parts are very, very small to work with.  :banghead: So it's going to take a long time to build them.
On top of that, I also need to finish building a X-Wing model kit for a friend and get that delivered to him in two weeks time.
So............probably no pictures/updates during the next two weeks.
