I should be nearly finished the mid left side this weekend and then it'll be the right side - which I thought I had finished but since I was doing more on the left than the right, I have to now even it out some. Won't be a issue, but it is a time set back.

Yeah, then you will simply add more to the right side which means you will need to add more to the left site which means you will need to add more etc etc ........

The never ending trek to total mental destruction
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Madhatter

LOL - yeah I know. The mentally saving grace for me though is that I know exactly what needs adding and where - so it shouldn't be too hard to balance it out.
However, if I look at the bottom layer I can see there needs to be more added there.........   ;D  nah, just messing. I'm happy with the bottom

Madhatter

hi again

Time for another update to this on-going saga. Almost finished the right side mid level - just some more detail to add and then it's onto the final detailing stage of the top plate.
The left side is pretty much done as I want it to be. Maybe a couple more detail bits but not much
So, starting with the left side:

Now the right side:

I have advanced a fair bit in the time since these photos were taken, but the next update will be the finished levels (not painted)
If you have any constructive feedback, by all means, please let me know - I won't get any better without it.
As always, thanks for stopping in and having a look
Till next time

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

A fascination array of sources for all those resin parts but I knew/know they won't be staying that uncluttered for long! ;D

Oh for sure it looks cluttered and somewhat haphazard now, but once the primer goes on, it should look a lot more cohesive. At least, that's the plan  . I'm going to concentrate most of the finer detailing to the front edges where it will really be seen. The rest will be mostly hidden by the top plate so it'd be pointless adding more than needed for the effect. There will be lighting in amongst the layers as well - I mean, I haven't gone to all this effort not to illuminate some of it right?  ;)
I'm planning on having the rest of the detailing done by the end of the week, then, it'll be final fitting and the bit I personally can't (and can) wait for: black primer time!

PR19_Kit

It's a good thing Star Destroyers don't have to deal with aerodynamic drag, all that lot would have a drag coefficient of more than 100000!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Actually, I was thinking that the first few pic's looked far too UNCLUTTERED & knew that you would be suitably greebling them in good order.

The "clutter" is what elevates your builds to AWESOME!

thanks mate
I was looking at the left side and was thinking to myself that I need to tie in some parts more.
I know, I know, I said I was finished it, but let's be real, it's going to be another 2 weeks or so before I'm remotely satisfied with the blending.

NARSES2

I knew I should have invested in super glue producers shares  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Madhatter

Nah, you'd be better off investing in Evergreen shares. I have gone through several packets of various sized plastic strip and sheet. I'd shudder to think of how much this has cost me

buzzbomb

Lovely... still progressing along in the right direction, towards completion.

Madhatter

thanks guys
At the pace I'm currently going with this, I may have the based finished by ..... nah who am I kidding? Who knows, really, but yeah, you're right Brian - it is heading in the right direction.
