Sometimes it doesn't matter - they'll take what they want, when they want. And never the spare parts you won't need for the particular build, either - no, it's always something vital...
or something you've spent ages sculpting / carving.:banghead:

From Airfix, and with the help of a generous donation of Flying Hours from one of our members: (you know who you are  ):

Airfix 1/72nd Avro Lancaster B.III *Special" The Dambusters.

Plans my own for now, but I guarantee it isn't going to be a B.III Special... ;)

Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I've dealt with the Carpet monster ages ago when i relocated it's natural habitat to another area of the house but it seems to be impossible to get rid of the black holes around my bench... :banghead:

A short time ago, about half an hour ago, I received a package from Aerocraft containing this.......

Which contained this......

Should fit into the 60's Group Build I would think.

I also received these....

On the left, new correct engines for the DH Hornet and on the right, ejector seats for the new Airfix Buccaneer

Quote from: Rick Lowe on February 10, 2024, 12:05:33 PMThose look good, Gondor.

Tidied up most of the parts by takeing the print supports off the parts, maybe a bit roughly in places but then as this will be in the next Group Build I can't do too much to the parts beforehand.

Here is most of the fuselage

It's missing the end caps only as well as inserts such as the undercarriage and bomb bay roof's and the cockpit. This is an A3 size cutting mat that its sitting on so this is not going to be very small.

And here are the undercarriage legs and wheels.

Roughly removed the legs as I had the fuselage in the previous picture. The tires are the only things that I have not touched other than to split the smaller ones from the bigger ones.

Yes I have looked to see how the parts go together, but no work was done other than staited above, and it all fitted, well the fuselage bits and some of the engine bits did, no adjustment needed. Almost all of the parts are hollow so it should be easy to make sure that it's not a tail sitter, and because filament printing was not used, the surfaces are nice and smooth except where supports necessary for the printing process attatch to a visible surface rather than an edge or internal surface.

Looks as if it will be a great and fairly quick build

I have also started a new storage tub

Most of the print supports are in that one tub. Who knows what they may be useful for? Should be ideal for dressing up steampunk or sci-fi models and the like.

When I left the Tank Museum today a little Maus followed me home

It's the original Pegasus 1/72 Maus from 20+ years ago that is now boxed by Trumpeter, but at half the price that would cost in the shops. Looks to be well detailed with metal axles   and rubber tracks.

When built it will fit in nicely with my growing Wehrmacht 46 fleet.

I reiterate my previous comment.
Yeah, she's a Big Girl, huh. About TSR.2 size... funnily enough.
For something like that, resin printing all the way. If you can find a source.

The supports look to be a good source of girder-work.

From the Leeds show today:

Mistercraft 1/72nd Super Lynx HMA.8 - cheap and kinda crappy, but it has a Helitele and a bunch of nice optional bits in it.

Italeri 1/72nd Kamov KA-29 Helix

Revell 1/72nd Mi-28N Havoc - a gift from Thorvic - thanks Geoff!

Not a kit, but small conversion bist and opieces: an 1:700 Pit Road/SKY WAVE EQUIPMENT FOR JMSDF SHIPS set, for a potential up coming small ship build.

The Wooksta!

Courtesy of Uncle Eddie at Blackbeard, a nice pile of various bits of resin, largely for Fw 190s and Ta 152s but also some Ju 88 bits and his reworked copy of Unicraft's Bv 237.  A vast improvement on the original.
