Here's a tip if you're doing bathroom renovations: Zinsser Primer, with anti-mildew properties. We were having mildew problems in our throneroom, but since using that stuff we get nothing. Not sure if it's available where you are, but worth checking out.

Ok, that was a little bit over dramatic.
There are five edge tiles that need to come off or there is not enough of a gap to add the 5 by 5 tiles. These are roughly six inches by a half inch rounded tiles that I put on about twenty years ago as when this place was build they put up tiles with no edges to them.
With this place being fairly modern, 24/25 years old, the bathroom has a fan powered vent that comes on when the bathroom light is switched on so there is no build-up of damp to cause mildew. Thanks for the info though.

Well that was an interesting weekend, not!

Started well, mainly due to receiving my pay rase and bonus from last year

Got more bits to allow me to do more work on the tiling in the bathroom, just got to get around to doing things now. Had curry for my evening meal, not my normal fare but a nice change as the Sherwood's Tika Masala sauce was just right for me. I had intended to watch a film on Saturday evening while scoffing the food, only the tv, as I found out later, was having problem with the output from the Blu-ray player and was only giving me sound. So I watched a program I had recorded earlier. I later found out that the Blu-ray player was fine, it was the tv that was having the problems. One trip to the local retail park and I returned home with a nice new 40" Smart tv for under £200. All hooked up and the area around the tv's area tidied which meant that the Don and Sancho had to be evicted, I have yet to find a suitable display location for them both. The old tv was moved into the bedroom where it has replaced the small tv that was in there, it is now possible to watch tv without eye strain from bed if necessary.
So with all that going on I didn't exactly get a lot of modelling done. I did get to see the film last night, The Dark Night is a long long film that could almost be two films.
The only modelling I did manage was to start on a model that I intend to have ready for the Scottish Nationals. It's a resin kit with the fuselage in one piece, as is the wings, and all the other parts are on a strip of resin with no idea what or where half of the parts are or where they are supposed to go other than into the build. I shall check the manufacturers home page tonight to see if I can find out more, or maybe drop them a line.

The Wooksta!

Sounds typically Czech 80s-mid 90s resin kit.

What's the advertised subject, may one wonder?

The name, description or pictures will not be shown here as it is supposed to be a surprise to one of the members of the site. OGL may remember me talking about it at one of the shows last year.

Just a general moan on my part gents, so don't take the secrecy to heart.

I sent an email yesterday to the company that made the kit and got a reply with a set of the instructions attached to the email

The model will have to wait anyway as I need to set up my new tv from the start and hope that this time it finds things like my Sky box and the old tv aerial. I can get vbery, very frustrated when something that should be plug in and follow a few on screen instructions doesn't work like clockwork  :banghead:  :banghead:

I have looked over the instructions. Typical small company instructions with an exploded drawing of how the parts all go together. This company actually had a photograph of the parts in pristine form with numbers next to them, pitty the exploded diagram has nothing numbered

The tv was a little more difficult to sort but also easy as well. I found that a couple of the HDMI cables were swapped over which was the easy bit, getting the plugs into the correct sockets was not as the sockets.

I suppose I should update this a little  :-\

After a few teathing problems I got the new TV to work correctly. Not much modelling work done other than starting a new model. I also have another Airfix Canberra B.(I)6 on the way, this will become one of the following, A B.6, a B.15 or a B.16. I have a resin upgrade set for it from Tony Little who I recently got the Javelin upgrade sets from. This also means that Pinocchio can be worked on as I am not going to pinch the basic airframe to build as one of the above Canberras. Have to check how much work has been done, it's possible that I might be able to enter it for the 60's group build. Talking of which, one or the kits I got from the Airfix sale is going to be entered. Fuselage windows will have to be a little bit smaller and round so I will need to make a punch of some kind to make masks for them but I think putting a Rotadyne into service as  C.Mk.1 in the White /Grey with blue cheat line and markings for Support Command is a good idea.
Slowly fetlling away at the equipment bay on the TSR.2 which brings up the question of colours. What is the best car paint match for Oxford Blue which I am assuming is the blue used in the Raspberry Ripple scheme?

It seems there is a Ford Oxford Blue available. Whether that's an accurate hue, or just what they're calling it, I have no idea.

Gondor

Considering my ability to start several projects for Group Builds and never finnish them, at least in the time frame, even with the usual extension to the allotted time, I am looking at another couple of builds for the next Group Build even though I have failed to complete any for the current one.

Anyway, it looks like I have plans to build both the Fairey Rotadyne and the Fairey Project 75 (GOR.339) so you could say I will be Fairey buisy   ;D
