I have the Northwing conversion kit to convert the Hasegawa Neptune into the Japanese turbo prop version. It has new engines,  new wing inserts forward fuselage, and auxiliary engines, amongst other stuff I can't remember.

Off-topic, but I've got a Neptune and I've always tentatively planned to turboprop it too, but with the noses off a pair of FROG Wyverns as an RAF version.

Love that idea H, LOTS more grunt than those puny radials.   ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Indeed it would! Replacing two Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone 18-cylinder air-cooled radial piston engine, 3,600 hp  each   with two  Armstrong Siddeley Python turboprop engines, 3,600 hp +1,100 lb residual thrust each would have an advantageous effect.

According to Wikipedia, the Python was rated at 4,110 hp + 1180 lb thrust. It was 780 lb heavier, but it's power to weight ratio was still better.

Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

The biggest issue is the difference in length, the Python 3 being thirty inches longer.

*In simple terms an eshp (equivalent shaft horsepower) rating is determined by adding together measured shaft hp and the residual thrust divided by 2.5. Where 1 lhp = 2.5 lbs of thrust.
Which we can state simply as ESHP = SHP + (RT/2.5).

The 4,110 eshp rating is the total power rating for the engine, it is not 4,110 hp + 1,180 lbs of thrust, it's 3,638 shp + 472 hp from residual thrust.

4,110 eshp = SHP + (1180 lbs. thrust/2.5); 1180/2.5 = 472; 4,110 - 472 = 3,638 SHP.

This is true, I had not thought that through - you make good sense.
I've never been keen on the spotlight (or paperwork) anyway; but we could always get minions to 'run' things while we stay in the background, at the bench...?

This is true, I had not thought that through - you make good sense.
I've never been keen on the spotlight (or paperwork) anyway; but we could always get minions to 'run' things while we stay in the background, at the bench...?
