The whole building part is what I live for. Painting is a necessary evil.

I see where you're coming from.  ;D
For my part, I'm happiest building. Interior painting is OK, but exterior painting tend to become procrastinated. PSR - well that depends. Mostly, I think its OK. F.i the two Tunnans, I just smacked on some putty on the weapons pack joint and sanded it clean while the laddie was walking the dog. A fifiteen minute affair. The Sabre Dog, however.. There is a panel line marking the glass fibre radome joint towards the aluminium of the fuselage ( emphasized with a pen below) that I am not too keen on losing, and, believe it or not, the "ditch" so evident in photos isn't quite as obvious in real life.

Then again - looking at it - a small, judicious filling and sanding... Hmmm.......
Bloody hell, Lee!  ;D

The F-86D would look great in Standardmaling 67 (SM/67) - FlyvevÄbnets notorious guaranteed non-weather-resilient dark green. In real-world most of the danish F-86Ds ended their lives in that colour, being used as decoys on the danish airbases.

Hehehe!  The inside needs doing too.

Having puttied a bit and sanded carefully, the external ditch is at least significantly more shallow. I didn't bother with the inner ditch, however. Enough is enough.

On the other hand, I've cut the wingtips and managed to file out really nice trenches to fit the Terma ECM pods as found on the upgraded Danish F-100's. They'll make quite some difference, pushing the aircraft from the early 50's all the way into the 70's.
I also found a couple of pylons with accompanying Bullpups, courtesy of an old (but nice!) Hasegawa Super Sabre. They'll fit very nicely indeed just under the leading edge of the wing. Having glued them together, I'll paint the complete assembly before attaching them to the Sabre Dog. Then it's just those ECM Pods, and maybe the odd antenna - and painting time! Maybe I'll manage to actually complete these Danes this time?

Only thing done to this one today is some grey paint on the canopy framing, to make the framing look grey on the inside. Im pretty bad at this kind of painting, so it's for once nice not too see as sharply as I once did..

Looking closely, you can also make out the Terma ECM pods on the wing tips.

Next up is completing the painting of the missile/pylon and tank/pylon assemblies, making them good to glue on to the aircraft itself.

Thanks.
The main coat is Humbrol 116 (equivalent to FS. 34079)and the grey is Humbrol 127, to be overpainted in H116 at a later stage.

I prefer my old Humbrols over what else I can get hold of, despite Revell being the only brand easily available here these days. Humbrol was more or less pushed out of the Swedish market a few years ago over some EU regulation of some poisonous ingredient, and when they sorted that, the importers had all switched to Revells more or less unusable soup. I find that deeply annoying!
Interestingly, second hand Humbrol stashes going on Evilbay are fetching ridiculous prices, indicating I'm not the only one finding Revells goo a matter of disgrace.

Built the drop tanks today and painted the missiles once more. As they're white, it'll most likely be a few more coats before I'm happy with them. Annoying.

Tanks, missiles and a few odds and sods glued on, and I even reached to sort most of the green overall she is to wear. Just some detailing around the canopy left before moving on with general detail painting.

The Bullpup missiles work really well, and I think they'll be even better when having had their radome painted up. Actually, the entire aircraft benefitted from the loadout.

Yup some types come to life when you fit their loadout, whilst others definitely look better in a minimalist state.

Ready for the fiddly bits of painting.

The all-green livery suits the Sabre Dog well.  I have been thinking about a similar Danish Saab S29C, but eventually folded that thought.
