I can just imagine 3 or 4 bored UK newspaper sub-editors taking that completely out of context   ;)

I can think of an entire Amercian cable "news" station taking that out of context.

As planned, a trip to the small local air museum today. No interesting books, unfortunately, but a good walkaraound session on the resident JA37.

Also, someone was able to try out the Viggen ejection seat.

Added to that, I've made the last pylons for the Lansens, but I will still need to fix a few missile rails.

All in all, a rather good day.

That grin says it all.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

..and a couple of cockpit shots. Note the MFD's installed in the final upgrades, effectively carried over from the JAS39 Gripen development.

Great pics! How did they get that aircraft in the building with the fin between the trusses? Or did the tail fold down? Or build the building over the aircraft?

The fin folds down so they can park them in underground bunkers.

Two Defender heavy days, but now the 90 seems to be in reasonable shape again, thanks to great friends and good support, and about 100 kgs of spares and replacement components.  :o

Today, we continued the car theme by popping in town to drive a few candidates for the Defender 110 replacement, a car that will have to be rather seriously terrain capable while still substantially more comfortable and easy driven than the old mud bus, in accordance with Her Ladyships requirements. Accordingly, most of the driving was made by her while I mainly tried not to be too glaringly obvious with my preferences. Not an easy task, I'll tell you.

Anyway - while having to admit I'm quite horrified by the prices asked, even for the 2nd hand cars we're in the market for, we've at least come down to a final model. What's left now is finding a well treated example. Hopefully we'll be sorted in good time for this years traditional Easter expedition to Denmark.

Modelling?! Ha... :banghead:
But there will be days for that too. And in the meantime, I try to keep the mojo up by reading a bit about the RSwAF's Cold War organisation and equipment, in the process finding a few interesting pictures, films and articles among other things detailing the stunning tactics used already from the late fifties. The strike and reconnaissance pilots routinely flew just ten metres above the terrain at speeds up to Mach 0,9 many times even cruising below adjacent treetops and hills to ensure terrain cover. Fascinating!

Whatever you do! If she leans toward something you like, DON'T SAY ANYTHING! If your spouse is anything like mine I swear if she thinks I like it she won't get it. Its a woman thing.

Probably because she suspects (knows?) you'd wind up borrowing it more often than not... ;)

Considering the fact that the Jag is formally mine, but I've used it about 4% of the miles it's done over the last five years...

Car prices are ridiculous, although I bought a new Toyota Corolla for my wife and it's turned out to be a great car, with some features (like rear view camera) that are only options on more expensive vehicles. I'm still driving a 22 year old Honda CRV.

Only car I've bought in my life (it's the eyesight you see, or not as the case may be  ) was a Triumph Spitfire Mk III (might have been IV) convertable for my then wife's  21st birthday present and it cost £450. How times change  :o
