Too scenic but I'm liking the direction of thought. St Kilda or Grignard Island are strong options

Machrihanish, then!

Edinburgh!...................meaning the main settlement of Tristan da Cunha, (not the place in Scotland): or there's that house on St Helena where we parked the ex-emperor Napoleon some years ago.   Then of course there's Pitcairn....or Marion Island............or even  Heard Island if our antipodean colleagues  agree.

Not for long, isn't it slated to be a spaceport at some point in the near future?

Yeah but relocation options are dependent upon using up some CalMac loyalty points 😂

Quite definitely the 'back of beyond'!

Hmm, you can get beyonder by pootling down to the Kintyre lighthouse.  Good view of the Antrim coast from there, mind.  Easy to spot Ulster cyclists from the lighthouse.  Watching the Irish Sea clash with the Atlantic is entertaining!

On a good day you can see the Republic of Ireland from Machrihanish.

And you'll find flotsam and jetsam all the way from the USA washed up on the beach.

Bit of a change as I've brought in a mate (Tim) as a partner for the Gannet Scale Models side of things. He has (today) taken the resin printers and their assorted gubbins, hingymajigs and hoojaplonks to his workshop where he'll look after production and eventually packing and posting while I focus on the design and support end.

Takes some of the load off me and frees me to do more of the bits I like. Hopefully makes the kits better, more available and easier for me

So with this new thinking capacity as well, what potential new goodies are you considering?!

We know he's working on the Hawker P.1103 and the single engine Fairey Delta 3. I dare say an English Electric P.6 may turn up too as it was hinted at some time back.

The P.6 I keep shying away from as modelling the Lightning wing wheels gives me the heeby jeebies but you can add the tailplaneless proto Victor and HP slew wing airliner to that list

Always useful to have someone specialising in that side of things  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Could you not play with the CAD from the P1A?  Or just put the wells in and leave the modeller to sort them out.

I saw a hoojaplonks specialist once and walked like John Wayne for a fortnight. Never again

Fair point, the P.1A file is a bit of a monster but breaking it up might be possible if I find the right software

Or do P.6 as a full fuselage conversion, with wing and tailplane roots in place?  Although do include the early fin.  Don't gear it to go with any particular donor, leave that to the buyer.

I know there is pressure to include everything in a kit, but by their nature these subjects have a particular audience who are prepared to add detail and fill in the blanks.

P.6s aside I have had a couple of stints at the virtual workbench & made progress on the Hawker P.1103 to the point that it is ready to print

I'm now capably assisted by a mate on the island who has set the resin printers up in his workshop and he will be looking after the production side of things so that will hopefully mean I can be more reliable as a source of kits and at the same time eaves me with more energy to do more of the bits I enjoy. He is just getting to grips with running the printers but all looking positive
