Somebody needs to do a damaged B-24 rotting away in the graveyard at Chakeri Airfield postwar, shortly before they were resurrected for the Indian Air Force in 1948-1950.

Not that you'll see any of it.  Unless Airfix is sending a transparent fuselage half with the kit.

April edition of Airfix Magazine has some sprue shots and a preview of the Liberator. Definitely looks as though it's been tooled to enable other versions to be produced and it does look nice
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Sweet Chris ..look forward to reading that ..in three months..we don't even have March here yet ..fact the new issue will be god knows when cause the latest issue of Military Modelcraft International I got was October 2023 ..volume 27..issue 12  :o
Not saying everything we get here is late but the world could end and we wouldn't know about it for at least a month.

...I think a lot of  discussions over which aircraft is better than another are essentially insoluble.

Or redo the 'Lady Be Good' diorama that Shep Paine did all those years ago...

Or one at the scrappers, being sliced up or smashed open with a bulldozer.

Don't look at the pics of the A-26Ks being sliced up every 3 feet, or the B-52s being 'cut' up by wrapping chains around the fuselages and bulldozers pulling in opposite directions...  :banghead:

Same.

But I do acknowledge that the B-17 was the better aircraft.

Dogfight?
Would that not largely depend on the skill of the pilot rather than the perceived "better" aircraft?

I'd agree on the internal detail. Most of it a waste of plastic that would just end up in my bin. Most of the interior parts on the Wellington and, Shackleton went that way.Just personal preference.

When they scrapped the Nimrod MRA.4s at Woodford, they used a thing which I presume is an industrial tree pruning machine: a monster-sized chainsaw on the end of an articulated hydraulic arm, mounted on a vehicle.

I don't mind. I'll just do it all & if it's visible - great; if not - I'll know it's there! ;D

Exactly my thinking. I do get a feeling of satisfaction after finishing the internals, and just before closing them up  ;D  Plus now that you can take decent photos with a phone, rather than having to get your camera out, you can get photos of the innards
