Been having a think about what to do with the shackletons I got from Lee(the wooksta), and had a look st engine power comparisons for the Griffon, and the Tyne turbo prop engine. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to transplant a pair of Tynes  to replace all four griffons now would it? The Handley Page Herald went through a similar transplant, so why not.

It's possible, basically an older, slower and heavier Atlantic.  Maybe as a stopgap if Nimrod didn't enter service on time.

My thoughts exactly, as there isn't much you can do to a shackleton to make faster or sleeker, so more modern engines are a plus at least.

Haha, erm no, I have 2 pairs of the tyne engines, one pair could be going on a Vickers Valetta. My Avro Kittleton has 6 engines, all Griffons. Although the more I think about it....

That's not true, I have fitted the engines from the Airfix Fairey Rotodyne, T56 turboprops and even turbofans plus the engines from the B-45 Tornado. Backwards engineering turning into the Avro Lincoln and a tailless configuration with canards in a new nose. A twin-boom tail, gunship and AEW,I even had a go at moving the wings higher up the fuselage based on the Avro York which didn't go too well but using the engines off the Boeing C-97 works
