Had an idea of how to make use of a brand new but very trackless M48A3 tank ive had in the stash for a very long minute .
With the very happy acquisition of new items for the stash the doors opened .

What if the Australian army in the Vietnam War didn't use the Centurion but was instead the M48 ?
But dew to the Aussies using British armour like the Charioteer tank destroyer they didn't like the 90mm gun as it's ammunition wasn't usable with any other vehicle in the armies inventory so they retrofitted their tanks with the 20- pounder gun .

This idea stuck and so this GB it will become a reality.
Start pics to follow in a couple of days as I've a wedding to go to tomorrow..so Sunday will be the day ...and no it's not mine  ;D

As you guys can imagine I'm gonna beat this thing to with in a inch of its life ..bush bashing does alot of damage and it's gonna be loaded with crews gear for a long operation.
Next week I'm gonna have to look seriously at getting some Aussie tankers .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Tell me about it!

I spent five days last week looking for a multi-cam boonie hat that I could have sworn I'd hung on my dining table chair. :o

Eventually found it buried under some boxes in the modelling room!   :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

You think that in a place as small as mine it would quite easy to find things but I tell ya ..things vanish in here with surprising speed somedays and it's just another mystery of our hobby I'll bet .
But ya also know something strange going on when I can't find a skilsaw  :o

This is going to need a heap of work to mount it convincingly to this hull as the M8 dozer was for the M48 ,,this on the other hand is is a M9 which is for the M60 ,,theres a very large difference between the ways these were mounted to the hulls.

A start has been made  tho...glued the hull parts together and started to mount the suspension parts and glued the turret together so i could get the main gun mount sorted .
I was going to use the old Tamiya 20pdr gun but loe and behold i have one in metal from a AFV Club Cent i had scored online ..it was already made and not badly made  either but everything was painted first so the glue didnt take and its falling apart  ;D

It's in their nature, or some of them anyway.

The late Mrs_PR19 used to have her fave places for everything, and woe betide me if I put something in the WRONG place! :(

But every now and then she'd change where those places were, but omitted to TELL me that they'd changed, so for some while I'd be getting in the neck and not knowing why.  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

My wife talks about something then changes subject without making that apparent and I'm still trying to figure out what it was the first time!
