I was thinking about another turret for some time since I have 2 more from Pola. I decided not to, because is it a pre-dreadnought era hull after all. Not really long and designed to carry only two main turrets. In terms of armament she is a pre-dreadnought in the cruiser world if I can say so.

I think you are absolutely right to leave her with 2 main turrets

Thank you for nice words and feedback.

It is time to say: I guess I'm ready for painting.

So:
  • The hull and other parts in this kind of grey are Borodino original parts.
  • The lighter grey parts are from Pola
  • White parts are made by me or it is a white putty :)
  • The other shade of grey ;P is the biggest searchlight on the top of the superstructure. It is a leftover from Bismarck.

Hello. I was ill but now ok. And my work is back on track.
Here you have one small pic of how it looks. Enjoy :)

Oh, very nice. I've sometimes wondered about a similar WWII conversion for HMS Dreadnought.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Quote from: kerick on February 25, 2024, 10:03:35 AMI've wondered what a monitor like ship would look like with modern tank turrets and similar armor on the ship. There were the brown water navy monitors in the Mekong River delta during Vietnam. They had slat/bar armor against RPGs way back then.
Grumman PGH-1 Flagstaff with M551 Sheridan turret.

An interesting idea. I was thinking of something bigger but this is cool too. The latest version of this idea is maybe a 1/350th hull with a rebuilt superstructure and Abrams or Leapard 2 turrets. Someone did something like this a long time ago with an Arizona hull and Sherman turrets IIRC.
