Don't normally post Airwaves etch stuff, but they seem to have re-released a particularly large batch of etch for old, long OOP models that may interest many here:

Airwaves
Aircraft detailing sets (etched)
AEC44002 1:144 Re-released!! Boeing 737 (designed to be used with Airfix kits)(4329:36)  £5.10  £4.25
http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AEC44002

Airwaves
Aircraft detailing sets (etched)
AEC44005 1:144 Boeing 747 'Jumbo' interior (designed to be used with Airfix kits)(4446:25)  £6.12  £5.10
http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AEC44005

They should also fit the much more state-of-the-art Revell kits, and others too. I've got the first issue of the 737 set and put it inside a Daco 737-400 and it fits a treat.

No-one in their right mind would even THINK about spending money on an etch set for the dog's breakfast that Airfix made of the 747!  :banghead:

Almost 10 years dormant and I wake it up......must be Spring. ;)

Seriously just noticed that Hannants have a large re-stock of various Airwaves bits and pieces.

Has someone put them back in production ?

Hannants own Airwaves and must have decided to restock. Glad you posted the link as I had only been looking out for one specific set. Now, thanks  :banghead: , I have ordered several more  :banghead:  :banghead:

They did some lovely stuff, and the should still be as good, but may not fit more modern kits these days. A little 'fettling' may be needed to get the various bits to fit.

I can't say i'm a fan of their stuff... I bought the cockpit set for the Monogram 1/72 Bearcat and it simply did not fit. IP and the whole tub assembly were way too wide and created large gaps when closing the fuselage, even after i'd scrapped and carved out quite a bit of plastic on the corresponding areas of the kit's interior. I was very disappointed with it because it did look good but after this experience, no more of those for me.

The stuff can be quite hit-and-miss. The ones I want, and have on order, are quite good and I need them for the front cockpit of a build I have planned for a Javelin which uses a lot of 3D printed upgrades. The designer said he used the Airwaves set so didn't make a resin replacement for that area.

Well, i believe you but, how can one know which ones will fit and which won't?
I have no way of telling so, i won't buy them. Eduard's colored sets worked like a charm on the first go so, my choice is easy.

The thing is that sometimes they are the only detail sets available for a particular aircraft, such as the Javelin, so I have no choice. I do know from experience that some will not fit the subject, however as a supply of panels and the like for whiffs...

I understand your position and to each his own, right?
I also have a few more kits for which there are no Eduard sets, nor from any other brand besides Airwaves like in the Monogram Bearcat's case but, i'm not spending any more on their sets just to find out they don't fit and have them knocking about in the spares box as parts that may or may not be used in the future. I prefer using scrap styrene to scratch up a part i need and use decals for instrument panels instead but that's just my opinion. I have bought sets for kits i don't have to use on other kits but only of the 3D "decal" kind, with separate panels, screens and gauges. Those can be easily used on different kits.
