That Cosmo Falcon does look good but, 11 parts for both nozzles or for each of them?

Ah yes - I have a Bandai X-Wing in the stash that I had forgotten about... sigh
Ah well, at least if I build it as one of Red Squadron, things should be simpler...

Each individual nozzle has eleven parts.

One could build it then paint it but some very intricate masking would be required.

Today I did a bit more of this (it's a slow build, painting individual pieces as i go.  But the slight differences in colour give it a satisfying patchy look) plus fiddley bits and track painting on the Pz4, and some work on the Animal Kingdom Chevelle.

For once a Sunday uninterrupted by chores, trips or visits.

Apart from the B-17 I made progress with the Cosmo Falcon and the fiddley bits on the Panzer iv.  A lot of the panzer parts are PE and i struggled with these as the fold here creases seemed a bit too deep and they kept snapping.  I can use the optional fully moulded tools but unfortunately need to use the PE for the spare link clips.  I'm halfway through painting the tracks.  Done base colour and rust. Dry brushing exposed metal is next.

As far as cars are concerned i'm motoring along with the Giraffe skin Chevelle which is nearly ready to get its axles attached.  But i've hit a road block with the Subaru Brat - i've run out of paint.  It needs a few more coats of the red i'm using and it won't arrive until next week.
I have made progress with a Monogram Pontiac Fiero though.  I've attached front and rear bumper panels to the body and sanded off all the mould separation lines and glued on the door mirrors.  It'll be ready for a coat of primer when the glue dries.  The plastic (moulded in red) is very nice to work with - not too soft snd not the very shiny brittle stuff Monogram often seem to have used.
Thinking about it red monogram styrene does (IIRC) seem to be easier to work then their darker colours like black and dark green.  Maybe the dyes have an effect?

Next Sunday modelling will be interrupted but for a good reason - Tyabb Airshow.  I've meant to go along for years but have finally got around to getting tickets.  Looking forward to seeing the warbirds up close.

As my restock of red paint arrived I continued to add coats to the Subaru today.  Basic red is now done to my satisfaction but I want to add some post shading to make it look faded and sunbleached.

I also picked up Black Widow 2 for the first time in about 9 months.  This is a 1/25 three wheeler i'm building from spare parts.  Black Widow is a two at the back trike powered by a six cylinder Nissan engine.  Black Widow 2 is a two at the front trike powered by a FWD turbo V6 Chevy donk.  The body might be familiar.  It's 1/48 Monogram.
Today I finally figured out how to build the front suspension upper subframe.
Those wheels are place holders and probably won't be used.

Eat your heart out, Morgan Car Co.!  ;D

That looks like a BRILL idea Fred.

I'm wondering about the effect of the secondaries from a transverse turbo V6 on a car as light as that at the rear. I suspect you'd need some SERIOUS balancing shafts on that engine!

The Hydra Panzer iv construction phase (of the tank) is complete.  I need to add a few transfers and then weathering is underway.  Also complete construction and painting of the crew.

Updates time.

Cosmo Falcon, due to its complex design gets built in sub assemblies each of which gets painted before it's attached to the whole.

Subaru Brumby is close to getting its wheels.

Hydra P4 crew are assembled.  Some filler required.  Bloke on the ground will be handing a bottle to the gunner.  More weathering to come.

Chevelle High Roller is finished but is too clean and awaits some light weathering.

And, while decanting all my aircraft engines and props into a bigger box I found this which has been built for a while and awaits usage.
I painted it as an RAAF 'hound and planned to put Roo's on the winglets.  I still have the launcher unbuilt (and reference pics from the RAF museum should I decide to super detail it - lots of pipework) but also a vague plan to have it airlaunched.

Eclectic mix.

I like the idea of an air launched Bloodhound, but what would be the carrying aircraft ?
