So the built 1/24 Tamiya Jaguar Mk2 Racing model arrived this morning and there's more loose parts than was advertised by the pervious owner and a few missing items.
The rear door handles are missing and so is the right rear light cluster plus headlight.
The tyres are loose and so is the dashboard but all are present, so is the back seat but I will be cutting this down so it's a padded shelf. The right side glazing is loose.
I I've found the decals for the dashboard so the car will be a daily driver with racing stickers. A few more lights added in the front and evidence of an ongoing project.

My pretty little Audi has a back seat. In theory. In reality, small children might fit there. It is large enough for a "medium sized" dog or two, though....

Sounds like a 4-seat Cessna 150. Yes, they actually exist. The rear seat is definitely not for claustrophobes. 

Green Putty has been applied to the rear doors, the left side glazing has been removed and the rear arm rests removed. The front seats have been replaced with the ones from the Matchbox Ford Mercury Capri Mk1 (four individual seats). The rear bench seat glued in place and the back shortened.
The walnut veneer decals have been added,side door cards glued back in place, the side windows also glued (I tried not to get too much glue on the glazing), dashboard glued but bodyshell held on with rubber bands.
Letting this dry overnight.

The quarter lights have been sanded flat and the headlamps plus grill removed for now but will be added later.
The dashboard and door cards have the walnut veneer decals, the interior has been painted black to match the front seats, unlike Project Utah this build now has two doors instead of the usual four. The original engine has been kept and is the manual gearbox with overdrive in fourth gear but keeps the racing setup as a road car.

When I was a Trade Plate Driver back in 2010 I did get to drive the new Jaguar S type okay it's not the same but you can see where they got the styling from.

 

The rear wheel arches taken from the Matchbox Ford Mercury Capri Mk1 have been glued on.

Definitely looking like a two door Jaguar Mk2 with those rear wheel arches.

I've had a look at the 1/24 die-cast red with black stripes AC Cobra and with a bit of bodging the chassis with the V8 engine could fit underneath the bodyshell. The wheels are from a 1950s Chevrolet Corvette.
I don't have any glue or plastic card to extend the chassis at the moment.

The 1/24 Tamiya Jaguar XJ-220  engine does fit in the front bay with a bit of persuasion, I've found that the tyres from the Triumph Broadsword are a better fit
The Triumph Broadsword has had a coat of Tamiya Gold acrylic paint, it will get a second coat and the fuel injection Dodge Charger has been given headlights from another kit.

The build now is mid-engined. The V12 taken from a wrecked die-cast Lamborghini Murcielago. The new engine sits on the back seat and I have sliced the roof off but kept a bit to cover the driver and front passenger. The bonnet/hood has been glued shut. I will be using a few of my spare parts to fill in the gaps.

A little bit of work this morning.

Now that there's no engine under the bonnet/hood I can use the monster wheels to create a 4x4.
This is a mockup using the upper body off the Austin 1300,I'm thinking louvres to disperse the heat from the V12.

Starting to take shape.
