As mentioned above I have ordered paint and transfers.  I ordered them from Melbourne (70 km North).
For some reason my employers decided to send the parcel containing them on a tour of New South Wales.  It's now back in Melbourne.
I look forward to seeing where it goes next...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Glad it's not just me. I'm sitting at home waiting for a couple of parcels at the moment.  :-\
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Nothing special in that.. standard practice  these days from observing the meandering travels of some of my parcels.
Move along.. nothing to see here ;D

Camo pattern adapted from VNAF Skyraider is drawn on in pencil, labelled, and ready for the paint by numbers part of the build.
All I need is the paint...

Oh, and i've also fettled the canopies to fit, cut out the spinning prop disc, and started work on the payload.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Thankee Gen'lemen.
Still no paint and transfers.  They have moved across Melbourne to the parcel facility from whence my parcels come.  But then they've already been there once on their trip so i'm not holding my breath.

Finally, the parcel arrived.

Underside has had its first coat of USAF Light Grey.

Second coat of grey on.

And I did a quick paint test.

Kawanishi N1K6 Paint Test No.1 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr

All Vallejo Model Air Acrylics. USAF Light Grey (71296), USAF Brown (71125), US Forest Green (71294), and US Dark Green (71289).  And then a coat of gloss clear.  Greens are close (don't ask me which one is which) but then they were pretty close IRL.

The second picture would indicate both greens are not dark enough but my photo was taken under artificial light in my shed with a phone and i'm comparing it to a 60 year old photo, which may or may not have been faded over the years, was scanned at an unknown date, and which then had who knows what image manipulation done to it.  So i'm going to rely on Vallejo doing their homework.  More pertinently those are grubby planes and the weapons hard points appear to be painted a lighter colour than the underside (or blue).

Depends on the quality of the film used, the skills of the photographer, sunlight at the moment of taking the picture, age of the paint, age of the photo ... Far too many variables to lose any sleep over it:

...the altitude, the phase of the moon, what colour socks the photographer was wearing...

Today it got third coat of grey, first coat of brown.

Thanks for the pics Womby.
I note the first two pics show aircraft with asymmetric tank loads (albeit with sides switched).  Anyone know what the item they both carry on the opposite side to the wing mounted tank is?
