Narses  indeed thank Bob!   Its now safely back in the cabinet and im back onto the 28mm figs i was doing.

Ive also had a quick look at the early 80s games workshop boxed version of Runequest i picked up,  the set is in very good nick and has the original colour in the number with a wax crayon dice  :o   there were also some original GW figures in there, true 25mm stuff,  wonderfully fine and delicate minis,  a bunch of adventures, and it looks like a couple of beastmen ?  Broo?  and a scorpion man..  im not certain ill ever use it as a live game, the print is very definitely 80s cottage industry so very tight text and very little in the way of breaking up.   But its a piece of history im happy to have had a look at.

its a bank holiday, so after some nits and pieces in the garden, and caulking a  couple of places that needed waterproofing im a modelling and painting.

ive used Mrs SPs punches to cut a couple of bay doors for a Battletech Longbow figure  https://www.coolminiornot.com/7102       and for the original     https://www.reddit.com/r/battletech/comments/165yhj7/finally_finished_this_phalan_i_mean_longbow/    the 3d print i got had open bays, so that has been remedied .

im also still painting the Empress 80 Brits  im on webbing and other  green  bits, so radio packs, LAW 72s, 51mm mortar fabric parts, and ammo tins, its a case of  getting the paint out thinning and then doing 2 or 3 of them a time before the game colour paint sets.  I admit that its very much a good colour but its not my favourite product.

all the figures are done, painted based and flocked.   they will be varnished either later today or tomorrow  17 more figures done
total so far this year

29 figures, 2 pieces of scenery, 6 models.

from the Empress purchases ive 6 MILAN teams, 3 81mm mortar teams and a SF GPMG team to do, and 20 SF troops   ( https://www.empressminiatures.com/cold-war-baor---early-1980s-131-c.asp  )  i think its 2 of each of the basic troop packs and then 1 of the command, plus i have the FV432 s and Landie mounted WOMBATs to do so im note quite out of the woods yet,  but i can at least start to recognise individual trees  <_<

but i may well be sidetracked to other things in the mean time.....

When one is introducing an innocent to this great hobby of ours isn't that one of the base premises ?  ;D  It's also of course quite similar to something a certain Capt Lawrence Oates is reputed to have said.  ;)

id mentioned in the stash growth thread that id acquired another Tamiya Chieftain,  i was contemplating what to do with it when an idea struck,  an AVRE  ive a cent AVRE i can measure up the demo gun from, and then finagle the  mantlet gap for, and then realised that id need a dozer blade ( cos any AVRE worth its salt needs one )  nothing at Hannants, so a quick look at accurate armour shows that one to fit will cost more than the kit ( damm), so im gonna have to save up for that..  and then ill have to think on the cam, i am tempted to go Berlin  despite knowing how much ittl be a git to do, as just green,  or trad green / black dont call, and green / sand  dosnt do anything for me, and will also give me vital JMN  repelling points as well.

still its a plan and will keep me out of mischief for a wile....

Rheged, the problem with that thread is that im self incriminating, in a country with NO statute of limitations   :o  :banghead:    so i have to be very circumspect .
