Quote from: Wardukw on April 08, 2024, 11:37:28 AMI think this one will be finished before the M48 is

I'm really enjoying how this is evolving..no ideas about the weapons but I do know what paint scheme I'm going to use 😀
Vietnam War U.S.A.F camo 👌

That will be a great fit!
Yeah I think so to Ken ..it's a colour scheme I've been wanting to do for a while now and now I have the perfect excuse  ;D
Sadly no work on this today as strangely I have to eat which I kinda have to and if I do work on a model I forget to. 😅

IMHO, an A-7 (or a mish-mash variant) usually works best in SEA cam.

And "That's Fronk-En-Beeld", thankyouverymuch. ;D

As it's a Kiwi build, I shall allow that ... But only just & only the once. ;D

Good luck on the hunt and carry on!

Worked with the A7s from the Arizona National Guard a few times. Those guys could pickle off a bomb and hit the target while pulling a hard turn at low level!

Thanks Capn  ;D
Now your about to see what ive been up to with this mish mash of planes

Ken i have read about how in Vietnam these pilots were deadly with these things on bombing runs and considering how stable these planes are its not surprising at all really .

Right then lads ....heres all the pics ,,starting pics first
The parts ..

Setting this all up wasnt all that difficult really ...getting the wings to work correctly wasnt all that difficult either but the way Italeri has the system worked out for their Tornado was terrible ...alone with quite a few other things about their Corsair to be honest .
So i changed it so it would work with the ideas i had .

So with a little bit of work i came up with this ..

As you can see here it worked rather well

PSR time ..

Now to the cockpit ...talk about lazy ,,the amount of detail here is pretty much zero and me being me this wasnt going to stand ...its such a wide cockpit that it needed the treatment and the treatment is what i gave it ..im replacing the pilots seat because the one from Italeri was and is pathetic in every way ,,..so heres what i started with and how it looks before painting ,,which i havent done yet ,,its undercoated tho .

Started to work this but things changed

The end ish results  <_<

Now the pilots seat ...you can clearly see why i had to replace it ...its fecking terrible and the amount of work to make it look good was going to be totally wasted .

To give some idea of how bad this is ,,this is a Japanese pilot in 48th  ( of course ) standing in it  :o

Thats it for now ...its drying from the undercoat and this is will take the rest of today ,,,its not very warm here right now which is all good .
more to follow Gents  ;D

Cockpits are a bane of my existence! I swear, even years ago, what were some of these designers thinking.
So where did you get the new seat and other parts? Looks pretty good.
I'm liking this collection of parts, it's coming together!

Ken I'm in the same boat..cockpits go from good to total crap and getting close to needing more cockpits if I build anymore like this .
The seat is from a F-15 AM set I got for cheap..the instrument panel is from another AM set ..also gotten on the cheap..the rest is Mirage 2000 and old as hills Monogram F-15 I got for super cheap

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Painting?  Probly too late then to say I think it would benefit from shorter wings (sorry Kit)?
I think they would help make it look more Corsairish at first glance.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Putty to painting in a day? Woh, Fast!

And I agree with Fred re: the wings. (Sorry, Kit! ... Not! )
