I've been intrigued by killnoizer's Tupolev landspeeder build. I was suggesting adding a Vista Cruiser dome structure so I decided to put some money where my mouth is. So I got out a 1/144th scale kit of the A-90 Ekranoplan to see what a Black Sea vista cruiser craft would look like.

I was fishing through the collection of canopies I have on hand and some looked like a good start.

I don't know if anything will come of this. Lots of fiddling around with the clear parts to see if I can make anything out of it. I would probably put some windows in the sides of the cabin too. Maybe some Aeroflot markings.

Hmmm, it's 1/144 scale, so the top deck of an N Gauge model railroad Amtrak Superliner Sightseer Lounge car should fit along the top.  ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

There are other railroad cars with ready-made dome ends:

Rivarossi have/had a model of it, as, I suppose, most of US model train brands.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

To me Vista Cruiser means one thing...

...Oldsmobile.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Captain Canada

The top of a passenger train car, with the bump like the Olds, in that green and wood panel scheme ? Priceless !

We had the Buick Skylark equivalent, it was the first car I "helped"* paint circa 1972.

*meaning, of course, that I was honoured with all of the prep work.

Played around with a few canopies to see if I could find something that would look like a vista something or other. Literally cut and paste so we'll see. I haven't cut into the fuselage yet.

I find that "poster" fascinating. Part of my brain is taking it seriously  :banghead: . It has been sent outside to get some fresh air
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Shades of the 'Monster from Mukilteo'.  ;D

A very old poor quality pic, but this one shows 'The Bulge' better.

Hunchback of Mukilteo
;)

Possibly the inspiration of an engineer who lived over on Whidbey Island and took the Clinton-Mukilteo ferry every day on his way to work up the hill in the Everett factory.
