Been a while since I blogged, hadn't realised.

So belated thanks to Mr Pellson and Mr Narses for your generous comments regarding the Hurricane and Firefly.

Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum.

And finally, have you seen the news this morning?  NEW WALLACE AND GROMIT NEXT CHRISTMAS!!!

First blog of the year.  Been contemplating kit wants and tbh very, very little is currently shouting 'buy me!'  In fact all I'm really looking out for is a Heller Dragon Rapide (had one when they first came out, sold it on donkeys years ago).  Will take an Airfix boxing.

Also an Airfix Nakajima Kate - the Wildcat/Kate dogfight double edition because of the markings.

Anyway, culture day today.  I'm a volunteer steward st Shakespeare's Globe and this morning a small group of us were treated to a guided tour of the Victoria & Albert Museum.  Very good.

I then popped across the road to The Science Museum.  Started on the 3rd floor at the 'Flight' section and worked my way back down.

Well I must say the Flight exhibition looks increasingly tired.  I'd go as far as to say neglected.  It's as though the Museum has no idea what to do with it, which is a real shame.  Rightly or wrongly I'm left with the impression that it's too complicated/costly to revamp.  Can't afford to take exhibits away, can't afford to put new ones in.

Not that there's no space up there, but it's devoted to money-spinning wheezes such as ice cream, etc.  The Museum does a great job in making everything interesting and vibrant (and rightly so) for folk of all ages ('interactive', 'immersive', 'inclusive'), but not Flight.  Why not?

Anyway, it's a nice afternoon in The Smoke.  Stewarding at The Globe (or, more accurately, The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse) this evening - an excellent production of Henrik Ibsen's 'Ghosts' - so I'll take a 4-mile stroll over from South Kensington in a short while.

That's par for the course for all the Science Museum sites at present, they're all into 'engaging with the younger generation', and seemingly ignoring those who actually paid for them to exist, namely the taxpayers.

The same situation obtains at the two Railway Museum sites, also part of the Science Musuem operation.

I saw that on the news a few minutes ago.  I liked her very restrained comment "  It's something I'd rather not do again!"

By the time I'd got my 'ear' for the accent, the item was over... glad she's ok, though.

Must admit like a lot of people once I knew she was ok I thought it was hilarious  ;D  BBC Breakfast presenters this morning were struggling to stop laughing, and in the end just gave up.  ;D

I loved the way that whilst being lifted up she clung on to her shopping trolley

Apologies for getting all serioius but I saw this wonderful painting yesterday and thought of McLelland Barclay and his dazzle camouflage ideas for the US Navy.
