South Downs Model Show Saturday 4th May

https://southdownsmodelgroup.org.uk/worthing-model-show

One of the rare shows held on a Saturday, which suits me I have to admit. It was good last year with a nice selection of clubs and traders, plus there is a large model shop virtually next door who doesn't attend the show itself.

We have a single table so at the very least there will be somewhere to rest your weary feet and have any purchases inspected by the assembled.  ;)

Trains are running, so all being well I shall be there.

Chris

Not much point when you next door I suppose.

Sussex Model Centre (next door to the venue) basically sponsors the show.  Also gives a 10% discount on production of a voucher that can be picked up once inside the show.

Quote from: NARSES2 on May 05, 2024, 01:28:11 AMMeanwhile spent a good, if tiring day, at the South Downs Show yesterday. Great company in Dave (Kitbasher) and Martin (MartinH) and apart from an accident with a near boiling cup of coffee  :banghead: , was one of the best days of Spring so far. Cheers lads

Just the three of us, and yes a grand day out nearly at the seaside - the SIG's first appearance at the show.

Small local show, ours was the only SIG represented, numerous local clubs plus four or five traders also there.  Sussex Model Centre sponsors the show - doesn't trade at the show but offers 5% discount vouchers to participants/visitors for use in the shop which is next door to the venue.  Shop owner much in evidence at the show engaging with all of the participants.

Nice to see Colin Freightdog there as a civilian, fair amount of interest in the SIG's display shown by punters, a fair number of them enjoying games of 'guess which bits were used to make  a particular model', or 'what's whif about that one then?' and being pleasantly surprised by the levels of subterfuge employed.

More pics to follow but here's a view of the table:

I think it was the first I've seen.

Gondor's Fairey P.75 and Martin's tanks attracted a fair amount of attention.

Now I know where else I was meant to be on Saturday  :banghead:

Looks like a good little show. Will have to try and get there next time.

Seamews are very rare, that may be the second or third model I've ever seen.
