WHAT????  :o

It's nearly £30!!! And I could put the entire model in the palm of my hand!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Quote from: sandiego89 on February 28, 2021, 02:13:39 PMDoes anyone know what the two lumps are on the starboard side of the H-5G from Mossies post?  Looks like the rescue hoist is on the port side.

I have a soft spot for early helos.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on February 28, 2021, 02:21:07 PMIIRC the forward one is a bulge to enable a stretcher patient to be carried sideways across the cabin. RAF Sycamores had a similar setup.

I think its misidentified as a G, but should be an H, as this quote from Wiki indicates:
Several H-5Hs were converted in 1949 to a unique medical-evacuation role, with casualty stretchers loaded sideways through blister-hatches on the side of the fuselage. The back stretcher station was located just forward of the tail boom and the main stretcher station was located behind the crew cabin. The forward stretcher station could accommodate two casualties, who were accessible to the medic in flight, while the back stretcher station handled only one, not accessible to the medic during the flight

There's a walkaround on the web here that shows the bulges in some detail. The rear one looks like a terrifying place to fly for anyone with claustrophobia:

True, but I'm going to splurge on the Scout. I've been fighting the Airfix one for a long time, and it still looks like a pile of crap. Want to finish it as a hypothetical RNLI example, and such a noble organisation doesn't deserve anything but the best.

That's a good whiff idea, RNLI taking on ASR.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

It looks very detailed which means higher cost for development and production, and as
LF is a small producer and not part of a larger company/corporation with the financial
resources to backstop costs it's going to necessarily be more costly.

PR19_Kit

I'm not saying it isn't any those things, but it IS expensive for a kit of that size.

Never built an LF model, can anyone speak to the quality?

It also comes with a comprehensive masking set, which is worth it on its own merit.

The Wasp and the Scout are in at Hannants now. Unfortunately they sold out almost immediately, but they're promising more stock in soon.

They were there two weeks ago as I was notified that my backorders were in. I had them in time to show the guys at the Scottish Nationals.
