Paper Kosmonaut

Not only Bowie is in spaaaaaace.

When ELO's Jeff Lynne needs to get away from the bustle of life, he just gets into his little space plane and takes off. He flies up and up and up and up until the Earth is just a little blue marble below his windows. And there is his goal: The juke-box coloured, still partially unfinished but ever so pleasing spaceship that appeared Out Of The Blue, one Rainy Day. After docking, Jeff gets off the plane and enjoys a couple of nice and quiet days before he returns to embark on new musical adventures.

Scale? Your guess is as good as mine. I'd say somewhere in the 1/1500 region. The paper model is created by Gary Pilsworth, I tweaked it a little and built it in a day or three. I printed it on very thick matte photo paper and that caused it to be a little crude here and there. I won't try that again in this scale. But the colours are very vivid. I added a couple of layers of clear gloss to get the juke box effect on the red and yellow parts.
There is not much else to add to the thread. I am a little pre-occupied with other less fun things on my mind, I am afraid. Anyway I hope you enjoy the pictures. (-:

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

that is brilliant
thank you.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

The spaceplane design is neat. Is it from ELO or somewhere else?
Cheers.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Doesn't it occur on a few of their other albums too, but much smaller?

Some of the live albums I think..  I enjoy some of ELO's stuff but I was never heavily into them.
