There's a touch of "Wallace & Gromit" mixed in with the Deutsche Demokratische Republik in that build.

Very cool!

That's really neat 👌 😀
Cute and ugly at the same time with a very cool outcome 😍 👍
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

A Trabant in that colour was my dad's first car bought from new. Before that there was a used Fiat (500?) and a Renault (Dauphine?). I remember it having that "new car smell". My uncles had Volvos, Fords and Opels.

I agree with the Venerable Marsupial!

I don't know if the slight roughness in various areas was intentional or even wanted, but I think it adds to the effect.

Hi,
Thanks for all he feedback.  Last night I went ahead and downloaded a Wallace & Grommit 3D model that I am printing out now.  I hope I scaled them correctly  ;)

Absolutely  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I know Wallace etc only from forums or models, but I agree your Trabant reminds of them. very nice build!
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

It's probably the Eastern equivalent of the Austin A40 van, so

Hi,
The boys/comrades are slowly comin together, though they do still need a bit of clean up before their final coats of paint. ;)

PS.  How do you say "The Wrong Trousers" in German

Rick Lowe

die falsche Hose

According to Goggle.

perttime

According to Wikipedia, the German title for the film is "Wallace & Gromit – Die Techno-Hose". Die Techno-Hose should work as a shorter version.

That Trabbie looks just right - like it should have been built for Leipzig's builders and decorators.
