Don't drink and paint. Moments ago I was about a 16th of an inch from dipping my paintbrush in my vodka instead of the jar of water. Actually did it once and ruined a glass of scotch.     

Would have cleaned it out a treat, though...

I was wondering what type of thinners vodka would make. The cheapo brands you can get in places your not meant to no about are probably less expensive then some brands of proprietary thinners/cleaners. Note I wouldn't where said places are being a Bitter drinker, but I've heard about them

I've just passed this on to the gaffer at Ludlow Gin.   He tells me that really cheap vodka and gin are fit only for cleaning purposes, and made by pretty much the same process.   He HAS used his own vodka  to  clean a stain on a dinner jacket, but claims that it was an emergency.

SWMBO has remarked that the really cheap vodkas, like Popov, are akin to turpentine.

Yes, vodka.    He makes a good case (for the use of it, not a case of vodka), as it's a mixture of alcohol and water, and he swears that it works for him. I believe he mentioned cheap stuff from Aldi, but I might be wrong as I was into the scotch (not recommended) at the time. No idea how it compares economically to regular IPA (methyl alcohol, not India Pale Ale), but, even though I don't regularly imbibe vodka (I prefer something with flavour) there is no way on Anacreon's green Earth that I would waste a good tipple by running it through an airbrush.

If someone wants to run with the idea, please post pictures.

Air raid on the hobby room last night, after defences went down (door left open). Probably by call-sign 'Bracken,' with the heavier and less manoeuvrable call-sign 'Smokey' flying cover, both from the well known enemy, CAT - Chaos Air Team. A few aircraft may be write-offs, damage still being assessed.

Another test of my depression meds...

Moved a sweatshirt that I discarded a while ago, it was a warm night so it was pulled off and tossed into the corner of the hobby room. Moved it yesterday. Under it was the plastic package that the Hobby Boss F-84 parts were in, I was going to save it for possible heat-and-smash parts.

You can probably guess what was still in it.

Too late to cancel the order, but I'm still not happy with Hobby Boss. What if the part had genuinely been missing from the box? I would still have had to pay twice the price of the kit to replace it. As it is, I will have a second for future whiffs, and you have all learned that:

1) I'm a dunderhead. But in my defence, the springtime allergies have hit me like a freight train, and my ocular organs, the product of billions of years of evolution, combined with 71 years of use, have been performing at a sub-optimal level, and...

2) You all now know that if you need replacement parts from Hobby Boss, it will cost you, big time. So at least I was able to give you first-hand warning of what to expect. You're welcome. And always check the box before leaving the shop.

The vengeance project is still a 'GO!', because of the reason given above; they need to be better at this.
