Quote from: Wardukw on May 16, 2024, 11:31:47 PM..all very annoying to assemble...im not even gonna attempt em in 72nd  :o

Don't even THINK about it! That way lies madness!  :o  :banghead:

I got the Master brass kit of the M-61 and it was almost impossible to assemble.

I have an idea that Gondor has managed it though.

Oh I'm very very familiar with the Master M-61 Vulcan set Kit..ive made 7 of those up and once you know that you have to drill out all the barrel rings they go together quite well 😉
Tho sucking quite severely trying to keep the barrels straight is a freaking nightmare.

No I haven't, I keep stopping due to the difficulty of getting the barrels straight. Didn't know that the holes in the barrel rings needed enlarged. Might give one of them a go again once I finish reorganizing the model bench and area, so maybe next century  :-\

Gondor
Alistair mate here's a couple of hints for ya when you decide you've got to much hair and want to loose some  ;D
Test fit em ..the ones I made are many yrs old now and they might have sorted out the fit problems and what I learned is once everything does fit ..I assemble the entire gun loosely then holding it together I align the barrels with the ol Mk1 eye balls and dab superglue in middle areas one at a time holding it the entire time ..once this sets ..medium density SG is great for this ..the barrels will be aligned and then easy to glue the rest together.
This will take like 45mins to assemble depending if it needs drilling out..if it does then add 20 more to play it safe 😉
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.

I spent HOURS trying to assemble my Master M-61, and never got past the first stage! My fingers are just too large.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

From the Very Nice Man who resides under The Hat - some transfers for my Professionals and Mad Max builds...
To be started sooner or later, but now they're there, not much to stop me as and when.

Very happy camper! <_<

Trademe struck me again with 2 wins ..

A Bronco 35th Buffalo MRAP with SLAT armour and a AFV Club M102 105mm howitzer..also 35th .
The M102 was super cheap and I sniped that but the Buffalo..oh so happy to get that 😄
Been wanting one ever since I built one for a mate.

I spent a very nice Sunday at the De Havilland Aircraft Museum Model Show. Surrounded by Moths of many types and Vampires and Comets etc.

I came home with:

1/144 Hobbycraft F-14 and F-15

1/72
Airfix Fouga Magister - because the previous one was so easy to build.

Special Hobby J-9 "Swedish Defender"
Now this caught my eye because it looked different, and I thought it was a Swedish home built 1930s design. When I got back to the club stand someone said it was an early P-47 Thunderbolt which is sort of true but it is in the family.
What the J-9 really is is a Seversky P-35, but as a result of Alexander Seversky selling the 2 seat version to Japan he got kicked out of what then became Republic Aircraft.
Sweden ordered 120 but only got 60 which were to replace the Gloster Gladiator.

Anyway I think it looks cool and worthy of an OOB finish.

In the post today a set of 35th scale Dragon Panzer IV Winter Ketten magic tracks..so hard to find these ..happy to have em  ;D

From the limited swap and sell and traders at Ballarat;

1 Set of 1/48 aftermarket transfers for Shooting Stars - Brazil, Portugal, and IIRC Uruguay to be used on larger 1/72 builds.
1 Set of 1/25 Truck CB aerials by Auslowe - Buzzbomb put me onto these.  Resin base with glass fibre aerial which won't snap like stretched sprue or stab like guitar string.  1/25 cars and 1/35 & 1/48 armour for the use of.
1 Airfix 1/72 Vosper MTB.  Box now includes most of a second kit (everything bar the hull and deck) kindly gifted to me a while ago by Womby.  PDRV are going to get an addition to their Revenue Protection Fleet.

And, from the silent auction I got an Airfix 1/72 Phantom FG1/FGR2 for a very good price.  It'll be either RAN FAA or RAAF (which would be a subtle whiff if I use a RW SEA scheme).

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I like this so much ...

You cannot view this attachment.

Came today, original sealed .
We open the box together on the next club meeting .

It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

Is that the monster Oshkosh tank transporter tug & trailer?

If so, I've got one too. Not sure if I'll EVER get round to building it though.
